Abigail Seaman (South Glens Falls, N.Y./South Glens Falls) of the women's indoor track and field team has been named the Le Moyne College Athlete of the Week, presented by
CADimensions, Inc., as announced by the department on Monday evening.
Seaman receives the honor after eclipsing two program records in her first collegiate meet.
She placed fourth in the triple jump with a program-record distance of 36-feet, 7.75-inches. On the first attempt of her collegiate career, she eclipsed the previous record of 33-feet, 3.5-inches, set by Awnshae Smith at the 2019 NE10 Championships, with a mark of 35-feet, 6.75-inches. After topping the previous record on each of her next four attempts, she tacked on another foot to her initial leap during her sixth and final attempt to take fourth place.
She finished 11th in the high jump with a height of 4-feet, 11-inches, the second-best mark in the program's history.
The Dolphins return to action on Friday, January 6 at the West Point Open.
