Mansfield, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference announced the student-athletes named to the Academic Honor Roll for the Fall 2021 semester on February 10. Among 18 institutions (including four associate members), 4,027 student-athletes were honored, including a department-record 289 from Le Moyne College.
The Academic Honor Roll acknowledges the commitment of NE10 student-athletes to excel in the classroom with three designations – Academic Excellence (4.0 GPA), Academic Distinction (3.50-3.99 GPA) and Academic Honors (3.00-3.49 GPA).
"I continue to be amazed by the performance of our phenomenal Student-Athletes within their sport of choice and, most importantly, in the classroom," said Director of Athletics
Bob Beretta. "While we strive to win championships the 'right' way, achieving academic excellence will always be our highest priority. Our Student-Athletes continue to live that mantra every single day.
"To set another school record with 289 of our Student-Athletes named to the NE 10 Academic Honor Roll is not only a tremendous tribute to their tireless work ethic, but also strong testament to the outstanding support our Department of Athletics receives from the fantastic faculty here at Le Moyne College."
Among the Dolphins' 21 athletic programs, 79.4% of Le Moyne student-athletes earned a spot on this prestigious list. The Dolphins ranked fourth among the 14-member conference in percentage, trailing only Adelphi University (83.7), Southern New Hampshire University (80.9) and Bentley University (80.3). This marked the 11th semester in the last 12 above 70-percent for the Dolphins. Of Le Moyne's 364 student-athletes, 178 (48.9%) achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or greater, including 30 who earned perfect 4.0 grade point averages this semester. Le Moyne had the third-highest percentage of student-athletes earn at least Academic Distinction designation (3.50 and above) at the aforementioned 48.9-percent.
The Northeast-10 Academic Honor Roll recognizes the conference's student-athletes for their achievements within the classroom. To be eligible for selection, a student-athlete must have met and or exceeded a minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) for the Fall semester.
