MEN’S SWIMMING AND DIVING REMAINS IN THIRD PLACE, WOMEN FOURTH, AFTER THIRD DAY OF NORTHEAST-10 CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS

New Haven, Conn. – Freshman Dominic Fratto (Waterloo, N.Y./Waterloo) recorded a second-place finish to lead the Le Moyne College men's swimming and diving team on the third day of the Northeast-10 Conference Championships on Saturday evening at the Hutchinson Natatorium on the campus of Southern Connecticut State University.

The men's team remains in third place after increasing its point total to 248.5 points. Bentley continues to hold on to first place with 488 points. Southern Connecticut has 476.5 points for its third straight day in second place.

On the women's side, the Dolphins are in fourth place with 326 points. Southern Connecticut State has 649 to maintain its lead. Assumption University moved into second place with 502 points, while Bentley is third with 485 points.
 
Fratto won the silver medal in the 100-yard backstroke in 53.05 seconds.

Senior Brandon Bardin (Burnt Hills, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) won the bronze medal in the 100-yard butterfly by touching the wall in 51.32 seconds. He placed eighth in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 59.81 seconds.

Freshman Belal Hamad (Syracuse, N.Y./PSLA @ Fowler) tallied a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:42.26.

Junior Charles Morris (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) turned in a fourth-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke in 57.83 seconds.

Freshman Justin Byrne (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) registered a fifth-place finish in the three-meter diving event with 395.50 points.

Junior Sean McCleary (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) placed 10th in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:49.67.
 
Senior Mikael Ann Melfi (Clayton, N.Y./Thousand Islands) placed fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:08.03 to lead the women's team.
 
Junior Caitlyn Longway (Sauquoit, N.Y./Sauquoit Valley) recorded a sixth-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:59.17.

Redshirt freshman Veronika Nelson (Vernon Center, N.Y./Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) placed sixth in the 400-yard IM in 4:49.62.

Redshirt freshman MaryLauren Burke (Hopkinton, Mass./Hopkinton) finished eighth in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:00.55.
 
Redshirt freshman Lily Buchholz (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles) posted a time of 1:58.98 to place 10th in the 200-yard freestyle. She finished 14th in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:02.15.

Junior Mikayla Bonner (Gardiner, N.Y./Wallkill) finished 12th in the 400-yard IM in 5:10.96.

Junior Madison Zapisek (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) placed 12th in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:59.82.

Junior Genevieve Kikukawa (Kalaupapa, Hawaii/University Laboratory School) posted a time of 1:02.48 to place 15th in the 100-yard backstroke.

Redshirt freshman Grace Thomas (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) placed 16th in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:03.34. She later earned a fifth-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke in 59.24 seconds.

The team of Burke, Melfi, Thomas and Buchholz placed sixth in the 200-yard medley relay in 1:52.59.
