MEN’S TENNIS COMPLETES NON-CONFERENCE SLATE WITH 7-0 VICTORY OVER RIT

DeWitt, N.Y. – The 34th-ranked Le Moyne College men's tennis team completed its non-conference schedule with a 7-0 victory over RIT on Saturday evening at Elevate Fitness.
 
The Dolphins opened the match by sweeping the doubles competition for the 11th time this season. At the first position, graduate student Manuel Righi (Bologna, Italy/IPC Manfredi - ITC Tanari/Concordia (N.Y.)/Universita di Bologna) and freshman Peter Hatton (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt/Club Med Academics/Army West Point) earned their 14th straight win, 6-3, over Christian Berko and Grahith Movva. Fifth years Jared Howard (Malmesbury, South Africa/Homeschooled/ASA College) and James Howard (Malmesbury, South Africa/Homeschooled/ASA College) collected their ninth victory of the year, 6-1, over Joel Pho and Jacob Meyerson at the second spot. Junior Erik Adler (Lima, Peru/Santa Maria College) and freshman Xavier Branagan (Wollstonecraft, Australia/St. Aloysius' College) moved to 3-0 on the year with a 6-3 win at the third position over Max Chang and Ethan Martin.

Le Moyne tallied its ninth sweep of the singles competition this season. Fifth year Tom Jarry (Paris, France/CNED Toulouse/Emmanuel) moved to 10-2 at the first position with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Berko. Jared Howard tallied his third straight win, 6-2, 6-4, over Movva at the second spot. Junior Kacper Piekarek (Wroclaw, Poland/Autorskrie Licea Artystyczne Akademickie/Missouri-Kansas City) registered his team-best 14th dual match victory, 6-0, 6-2, at the third position over Pho. James Howard won his seventh consecutive match, 6-3, 6-4, over Chang at the fourth spot. Branagan was a 6-1, 7-6 (7-4) winner at the fifth position against Meyerson to improve to 7-0 on the campaign. Adler closed out the match with an 8-1 victory at the sixth spot over Martin for his third straight win.
 
Le Moyne (17-1) returns to Northeast-10 Conference play on Wednesday against Adelphi University at 1:00 p.m. at the Skytop Tennis Courts.
