45TH-RANKED MEN’S TENNIS WINS 14TH STRAIGHT NE10 MATCH, 7-0, OVER BENTLEY

Syracuse, N.Y. – The 45th-ranked Le Moyne College men's tennis team won its 14th consecutive Northeast-10 Conference match with a 7-0 victory over Bentley University on Saturday afternoon at the Skytop Tennis Courts.

The Dolphins swept the doubles competition to extend their streak to seven straights matches without dropping a doubles match. Fifth year Tom Jarry (Paris, France/CNED Toulouse/Emmanuel) and junior Ethan Miller (Swindon, England/Cirencetser Kingshill School) improved to 13-0 in dual matches with a 6-3 victory over Daniel Weitz and Max Bonte at the first position. Graduate student Manuel Righi (Bologna, Italy/IPC Manfredi - ITC Tanari/Concordia (N.Y.)/Universita di Bologna) and freshman Peter Hatton (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt/Club Med Academics/Army West Point) won their ninth straight match, 6-1, at the second spot over Jordan Soifer and Alex Novins. Fifth years Jared Howard (Malmesbury, South Africa/Homeschooled/ASA College) and James Howard (Malmesbury, South Africa/Homeschooled/ASA College) also tallied a 6-1 victory at the third position over Diego Ramos and Noah Monsanto.
 
The Dolphins were unbeaten in the singles competition for the fourth straight match. At the first position, Righi improved to 9-0 as a Dolphin with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Weitz. Hatton defeated Conner Aulson at the second spot, 6-2, 6-3, to improve to 11-0 as a Dolphin. Junior Kacper Piekarek (Wroclaw, Poland/Autorskrie Licea Artystyczne Akademickie/Missouri-Kansas City) registered a 6-4, 6-2 win at the third position over Bonte for his team high-tying 13th win of the year. Miller recorded back-to-back scores of 6-2 over Soifer at the fourth spot for his third straight win. James Howard downed Novins at the fifth position, 8-6, for his third consecutive victory. Freshman Xavier Branagan (Wollstonecraft, Australia/St. Aloysius' College) improved to 4-0 on the year by topping Gabe Horwitz at the sixth spot, 6-4, 7-6 (9-7).

Le Moyne (12-1, 4-0 NE10) concludes its three-match weekend slate on Sunday at Skidmore College at 1:00 p.m.
