Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College Dolphin Athletic Association will enshrine the Gold Wave Hall of Fame Class of 2022 containing two former Dolphins, a coach and an administrator on Saturday, September 24th as part of John 'Doc' Joiner Homecoming Weekend. The Class of 2022 includes Katie O'Donnell '12 (women's swimming), Flagan Prince '04 (men's basketball), Joe Hannah (swimming and diving) and Dr. Shawn Ward (honorary).

A full schedule of events for Homecoming Weekend and a link to purchase tickets to the induction ceremony will be released in the coming weeks.

"I'd like to congratulate Shawn, Joe, Katie and Flagan on their selection to the Gold Wave Hall of Fame," said Director of Athletics Bob Beretta. "The accomplishments and contributions to Le Moyne's Athletic Department by this group are incredible. While Shawn and Joe have combined for more than 60 years of dedicated service to Le Moyne Athletics, Katie and Flagan's athletic achievements during their days in the Green and Gold speak for themselves. We look forward to inducting this esteemed group into the Gold Wave Hall of Fame in September."

Katie O'Donnell '12 // Women's Swimming (2008-12)
One of the most decorated student-athletes in the program's history, Katie O'Donnell '12 is just the second member of the women's swimming and diving program to be elected to the Hall of Fame. An all-American each of her four years, O'Donnell earned a total of 10 all-America honors during her time on the Heights, including first team recognition in her final two collegiate races. In her first career appearance at the NCAA Championships as a freshman, she placed 11th in the 200-yard backstroke and 16th in the 200-yard IM. As a sophomore, she placed 11th in the 200-yard backstroke and 14th in the 100-yard backstroke. The following year, she earned her first two career first team all-America honors along with another honorable mention accolade. She placed fourth in the 100-yard backstroke in a then-program record time of 55.94 seconds. She then finished fifth in the 200-yard backstroke in a then-program record time of 2:00.60. She opened the week by placing 10th in the 200-yard IM in a then-program record time of 2:04.96. She also earned honorable mention all-America recognition earlier in the week by finishing 14th in the 100-yard butterfly. The Northeast-10 Conference Freshman of the Year in 2008-09, O'Donnell was a six-time Northeast-10 Conference champion. A medalist in every NE10 Championship individual event she entered over her four years (13 events), she won five golds, seven silvers and one bronze medal, while adding eight medals as part of relays (one gold, four silver, three bronze). Flagan Prince '04 // Men's Basketball (2001-03)
One of only seven players in the program's history to earn all-America recognition, Flagan Prince '04 is the latest member of the men's basketball program to be elected to the Hall of Fame. After transferring to the College as a junior ahead of the 2001-02 academic year, Prince went on to score 893 points, grab 473 rebounds and block 82 shots in his two years on the Heights, during which time the Dolphins posted a 12-win improvement from the year before he joined the program. As a junior, he led the team in scoring (14.1 ppg) and rebounds (7.6 rpg), while adding 57 assists, 45 blocks and 27 steals over 30.7 minutes per game. The following year, he led the Dolphins to a 17-12 record and the sixth seed in the NE10 Championship after leading the team in scoring at 17.7 points and rebounds at 9.2 per game. For his efforts, he was named to the NE10 All-Conference First Team and an NABC All-America Honorable Mention selection. He became just the 13th Dolphin in the program's history (55 seasons at that point) to score over 500 points in a season, while his 267 rebounds were the 11th-most in a season in the program's history. As a senior, he was the male recipient of the 2003 Rev. J.J. O'Brien Senior Achievement Award.

Joe Hannah // Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving (1989-2022)
The first head coach in the history of the men's and women's swimming and diving programs, Joe Hannah is the sixth person in the two programs' history to be elected to the Hall of Fame. During his lengthy tenure leading the Dolphins, Hannah guided nine different swimmers and divers to All-America status over 15 events and Honorable Mention All-America recognition in 31 events. The crowning moment of Hannah's career came in 2008 when Alison Lesher '08 won the national championship in the 200-yard butterfly. The 2008-09 Northeast-10 Conference Coach of the Year, Le Moyne swimming and diving members won over 100 conference and state titles in both the Northeast-10 Conference and the Upper New York State Collegiate Swimming Association during Hannah's time. Since the NE10 added swimming and diving as a championship sport in 2003-04, Hannah coached seven NE10 Swimmer of the Year recipients, four Rookie of the Year honorees and a four-time Diver of the Year. Hannah coached five members who earned induction in the Le Moyne College Gold Wave Hall of Fame.

Dr. Shawn Ward // Honorary
A member of the College's faculty since 1987, Dr. Shawn Ward is an honorary selection to the Hall of Fame. For numerous years, he served as the College's Vice President for Student Development and had direct oversight of the athletic department. After transitioning back to a role as a faculty member in the Psychology department, Dr. Ward took over as the College's Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR), in which he serves as the liaison between the athletic department and the faculty and is member of NE10 and NCAA FAR committees. He has been an instrumental member of the athletic department and attends and contributes to all department meetings and retreats and has also provided academic support to student-athletes while traveling for NCAA Championship competition.
