Rowen Beattie, first baseman
Landen Duprey, catcher/infielder
Derek Diaz, right-handed pitcher
Mitchell Earle, catcher/outfielder
Robert Wegrzyn and third baseman
Tim Denet.
Rowen Beattie – OF/C – Pulaski, N.Y./Pulaski
Beattie is coming off a great season at Pulaski where he hit .419 with nine doubles, four triples, and a home run for an OPS of 1.274. He was named to the OHSL First Team and Second Team All-CNY. He continued his good play during the summer playing for the Lake Champlain Brewers, where he drove in 18 runs while stealing nine bags.
Cassidy on Beattie: "Rowen can flat out hit. He's a baseball player. He has the ability to play multiple positions and his bat should play at the college level. It will be fun to watch his development in the coming years."
Landen Duprey – 1B – Morrisonville, N.Y./Peru
Dunprey had an impressive season as a junior at Peru High, where he hit .548 with 10 doubles, two triples and six home runs, while recording 45 RBI. He was a CVAC First Team All Star and team captain his junior year.
Cassidy on Duprey: "Landen is a big, strong kid that is a run producer and will bring some power into our lineup. He has the size and strength to stick at 1st base and that is where we see him at the college level."
Derek Diaz – C/INF – White Plains, N.Y./Iona Prep
Diaz is coming off a great Summer and Fall where he slashed .418/.521/.673. He finished with 18 extra base hits and 57 RBI in 41 games. In his high school career thus far, he has garnered all-league and honorable mention Underclass All-American (Northeast) honors and is a member of the National Honors Society.
Cassidy on Diaz: "Derek is a gamer. He can catch and throw behind the dish and can also play corner infield and second base. He has a great baseball IQ and has a way of coming up with big hits in big situations. We are looking forward to seeing him compete at this level."
Mitchell Earle – RHP – Cortland, N.Y./Homer
Earle is coming off a fantastic season where garnered first team all-league and first team all-CNY for his work on the mound. In 43.2 innings pitched, he struck out 97 and finished with a 0.80 ERA.
Cassidy on Earle: "Mitchell is dynamic. He has a bulldog mentality and commands multiple pitches leading to the ability to stack up some strikeouts. He is mid to upper 80's right now but I can see him developing into a front-end guy down the road. He has a great slider to compliment his fastball. The sky is the limit for him and I cannot wait to see him progress in the coming years."
Robert Wegrzyn – C/OF – North Tonawanda, N.Y./Niagara-Wheatfield
Wegrzyn has hit .320 the last few years combined at the HS level leading him to be named First Team All- League and 2nd Team All WNY. He continued his hitting throughout the summer swinging to a .375 average.
Cassidy on Wegrzyn: "Robert is a solid backstop behind the dish that can do it all. He is a physical kid that can swing the bat but also possesses above average skills at the catcher position. His ability to catch and throw will help control the running game, which is huge."
Tim Denet – 3B – West Harrison, N.Y./Iona Prep
Denet finished his junior year hitting .348 with 21 runs batted in. He also plays his summer ball for the well-known Taconic Rangers and has been a mainstay in the middle of their order for years.
Cassidy on Denet: "Tim is a physically strong kid the can play corner infield and can swing the bat with some power. He has the ability to work his way into a middle-of-the-order run producer and we look forward to seeing his progress throughout his college years."
The Dolphins return 20 letterwinners, including eight starting position players and three starting pitchers, from last year's 34-22 squad, which advanced to the NCAA East Super Regional. The Dolphins open the 2024 season in mid-February.
