WOMEN'S BASKETBALL WINS SIXTH STRAIGHT CONFERENCE GAME

Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College women's basketball team (16-5, 11-4 NE10) moved into second place in the Northeast-10 Conference Standings following a 76-64 win over Adelphi University on Saturday.

The win was the sixth conference victory in a row for the 'Phins, and it avenged a six-point loss that Le Moyne suffered at Adelphi in November.

Senior guard Lytoya Baker (Rochester, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) scored a career-high 30 points against the Panthers, and tied a program record with 14 made field goals during the win.

The last time a Le Moyne player scored at least 30 points in a game was on November 23, 2021, when Emma Brinker poured in 30 points at Saint Rose.

Baker recorded 20 of her points during the second half, and shot 10-13 from the field during the final 20 minutes. The 5'9" senior guard also tallied seven rebounds, two steals and a team-high five assists during 35 minutes played.

Redshirt-sophomore forward Haedyn Roberts (Holland Patent, N.Y./Holland Patent) recorded a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds, while freshman guard Sierra Linnin (Valley Cottage, N.Y./Albertus Magnus) knocked down three three-point field goals and finished the NE10 contest with 10 points.

Senior guard Lexi Gruss (Binghamton, N.Y./Binghamton) contributed a game-high three steals, while redshirt-freshman guard Sydney Lusher (Oneida, N.Y./Oneida) added four assists, seven rebounds, a block and a three pointer.

Le Moyne committed just eight turnovers against the Panthers, which is the fewest turnovers recorded by the Dolphins during a conference game so far this season. Le Moyne forced Adelphi into 16 turnovers, and scored 19 points off of those turnovers.

The Dolphins grabbed 12 offensive rebounds on Wednesday night, compared to just five for Adelphi.

During the third period, Le Moyne shot 11-18 from the field and outscored Adelphi 27-16 during the frame to take a 57-42 lead going into the final quarter.

Senior forward Jenna Jordan led Adelphi in scoring and rebounding with 20 points and nine boards in 35 minutes of action. Graduate guard Lauren Hammersley shot 4-8 from three-point land and finished with 18 points and a team-high five assists.

Adelphi graduate guard Ty'zhea Hawkins, the NE10's current leading scorer, tallied 12 points, three assists and three turnovers against the Dolphins zone defense.

A three pointer from Lusher with 1:12 left in the first quarter gave the Dolphins a 16-5 lead, then the Panthers went on a quick 5-0 run during the final minute of the opening period to trim their deficit to 16-10 after 10 minutes of play.

Adelphi's Rolando Robinson made a three pointer with 8:08 left in the second quarter, then scored in the paint less than a minute later to make it 20-18 in favor of the Dolphins.

Baker scored Le Moyne's next eight points between the 6:32 and 1:45 marks of the second quarter to give the Dolphins a 28-24 lead.

Gruss knocked down a three pointer with 5:12 left in the third to give the Dolphins a 12-point lead.

Baker recorded 12 points and two assists during Le Moyne's 27-point third quarter.

Adelphi was unable to trim their deficit to single digits at any point during the fourth quarter.

Hammersley made a three for Adelphi with 8:30 left in the third to cut Le Moyne's lead to 13, then Linnin answered with a three pointer to make it 64-48 in favor of the Dolphins.

The Panther trimmed their deficit to 66-55 with 5:47 left in the fourth following a jumper from Kaitlyn O' Connell, but Linnin hit another triple for Le Moyne to make it a 14-point game.
