2/6/2023 4:10:00 PM

Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College women's basketball team (17-5, 12-4 NE10) will have the opportunity to take possession of first place in the Northeast-10 Conference Standings on Tuesday evening when they host #13 Assumption University (19-3, 12-3 NE10) on Ted Grant Court for a 5:30 p.m. NE10 battle.

The two teams met earlier this season on December 11 in Worcester, and Assumption came away with a 69-56 conference victory.

Since that loss to the Greyhounds, the Dolphins have won 12 of their last 13 games and are currently on a seven-game conference win streak. 10 of Le Moyne's wins during the run have been by double digits.

Tuesday's game against Assumption will cap a three-game home stand before the Dolphins play their next two conference games on the road.

On February 1, Le Moyne claimed a 76-64 home win over Adelphi University, led by a career-high 30 points from senior guard Lytoya Baker (Rochester, N.Y./Bishop Kearney), and a double-double of 14 points and 14 rebounds from redshirt-sophomore forward Haedyn Roberts (Holland Patent, N.Y./Holland Patent).

The Dolphins then claimed a 72-44 win over Franklin Pierce on Saturday. The 28-point triumph was their largest margin of victory so far this season, and it was the third time within the last two weeks that Le Moyne held an opponent to under 45 points.

Freshman guard Kaia Goode (Rochester, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) tallied 20 points, six rebounds, six assists and four steals during the win over FPU.

Assumption is ranked is ranked No. 13 in the most recent WBCA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll and are No. 2 in the D2SIDA East Region Poll. The Dolphins are currently No. 4 in the D2SIDA East Region Poll

Le Moyne is averaging the fewest number of turnovers in the league (13.5 per game).

Assumption is second in the conference in field goal percentage (40.6) and first in rebounding (38.8 per game). The Greyhounds have taken more free throws than any other team in the NE10 (381), while the Dolphins have taken the second most free throws this season (370).

Assumption and Le Moyne also commit the fewest fouls among NE10 teams. The Greyhounds are averaging an NE10-best 13.0 fouls per game (Saint Rose commits an NE10-worst 17.8 fouls per game), while the Dolphins are committing 13.2 fouls per game (second in NE10).

Assumption's opponents are knocking down just four three pointers per game against the Greyhounds so far this season (second in NE10), while Le Moyne averages 6.6 threes per contest.

The Dolphins shot 20-65 (30.8%) from the field, including 4-21 (19%) from three-point range during the setback, which is the lowest field-goal percentage that they have recorded during a game this season.

Both Le Moyne and Assumption have a starting lineup with five players averaging at least 8.0 points per game. Baker (12.9 points per game), Roberts (12.4 ppg), Lusher (11.0 ppg), Goode (10.7 ppg) and Linnin (8.8 ppg) lead Le Moyne in scoring.
