Vestal, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College volleyball team took on the Binghamton University Bearcats Tuesday afternoon in their West Gym. The Bearcats took all three sets to win the match with set scores of; 25-14, 25-13, 25-20.
"Today wasn't one of our better performances" said head coach
Susan Kim. "We've made a lot of strides this season so far but today we let our lack of consistent effort and energy get the best of us. I hope we take this loss and learn from it. We've seen what good energy and relentless effort gets us so I hope we tap back into that."
For the Dolphins, senior outside hitter
Madison Dembroski (Plattekill, N.Y. / Wallkill) recorded eight kills, seven digs, and one assist. Sophomore middle hitter
Nil Ezgi Tasdelen (Izmir, Turkey / Ugur Okullari) recorded six kills, junior outside hitter
Emily La Ruffa (Rock Hill, N.Y. / Monticello) had five kills, and sophomore middle hitter
Kayla Anstett (Rochester, N.Y. / Hilton) recorded three kills. Sophomore setter
Haley Gerken (Buffalo, N.Y. / Frontier) guided the offense with 18 assists, and junior libero/DS
Ella Katz (Burnt Hills, N.Y. / Burnt Hills - Ballston Lake) recorded three assists and three digs.
For the Bearcats, Tsvetelina Ilieva recorded 18 kills, and nine digs. Lydia Adam had six kills, followed by Misa Dlouha who had five kills, two assists and two blocks. Anna Sprys had three kills. Danit Choen recorded 17 assists, Zoe Myint had 14 assists, while Brenda Reynaga had two assists, and seven digs. Ella Schabort had seven digs and Sydney Aguirre had four.
The Dolphins will be traveling to Fort Myers, Florida for the FGCU Classic next Friday, September 15
th starting the weekend off by playing Florida Atlantic University at 11:00AM.
