Easton, Mass. - The Le Moyne College women's soccer team were defeated in its fourth conference game of the season against the Stonehill Skyhawks Thursday night.
The Dolphins made one change to their starting lineup against LIU on Sunday, which saw freshman defender
Mallory Pietrzak (Rochester, N.Y./Penfield) make her 13
th appearance of the season, and 8
th in the starting XI.
Stonehill registered the first shot of the match in the 2nd minute of action from freshman midfielder Erin Foley, resulting in a goal kick for the 'Phins. Freshman forward
Nicole Calle (Providence, R.I./Cumberland) answered back for Le Moyne, firing off a shot into the bottom left corner of the net that was saved by freshman goalkeeper Allie Sougaris.
Over the next seven minutes of play, Stonehill took seven total shots, five of which were saved by freshman goalkeeper
Mikayla McPheron (Rome, N.Y./Rome Free Academy) as the others were off target.
Junior forward
Courtney Felton (Rochester, N.Y./Penfield/Roberts Wesleyan) entered the match in the 22
nd minute looking to make an impact for the Dolphins. Senior forward
Brooke Wilson (Rochester, N.Y./Hilton) also came on for Le Moyne just four minutes after Felton, as well as senior defender
Katelyn Courcy (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy)
In the 34
th minute of play, Stonehill earned a corner which was met by the head of junior midfielder Hannah Anselmo, and cleared off the line by Courcy, keeping Le Moyne in the game. A minute later, freshman midfielder
Ajla Ikeljic (Utica, N.Y./Frankfurt-Schuyler), joined by her classmate forward
Alivia Day (Rochester, N.Y./Rush-Henrietta) entered the game for the 'Phins.
Stonehill almost scored its first goal of the game in the 43
rd minute, as graduate student Meghan Lord took a high-lofted shot from distance, hitting the crossbar and was collected by junior defender
Jasmina Barhoumi (Worms, Germany/Nelly-Sachs-IGS/D'Youville), playing the ball out wide to Wilson clearing it up the field. McPheron added another save just before half to keep the score knotted at 0-0.
McPheron made her first save of the 2
nd half in the 50
th minute from a shot taken by Anselmo looking for the bottom right corner of the Dolphin net. Anselmo scored the first goal of the game in the 57
th minute after collecting a loose ball in the roughly 35 yards out, going on a solo run and firing a shot off the crossbar, given as a goal by the linesman.
The Dolphins hoped to respond quickly as redshirt freshman
Logan Cookinham (Poland, N.Y./Poland) took a shot that was saved by Sougaris. She would record another shot just two minutes later that went to the left of the Stonehill net.
Ikeljic, Calle and sophomore midfielder
Kyla Sustad (Willet, N.Y./Cincinnatus/Merrimack) made a return to the game for Le Moyne in the 66
th minute of play.
Stonehill added its second goal of the game in the 70
th minute off a free kick on the left side of the field taken by graduate student Emmy Dumaresq, finding the head of sophomore defender Lily Roslonek, placing the ball into the left side of the goal.Â
The Skyhawks added a third goal to their tally in the 82
nd minute, as senior forward Karleigh Schultz played a cross from the right wing, finding the feet of senior midfielder Olivia Webster, sliding a shot between the legs of McPheron and into the back of the net to give Stonehill a 3-0 lead.Â

Lindsey LeBlanc (Westminister, Mass./St. Bernard's) added a shot on target for Le Moyne in the 88
th minute that was saved by Sougaris. The game ended as Stonehill recorded its fourth win of the season, third in conference play.
Le Moyne has a week before their next match as Delaware State travels to Ted Grant Field for the first time. Action is scheduled to begin at 3:00 P.M.
