Easton, Mass. – The Le Moyne College men's basketball team nailed 18 three-pointers en route to an 88-57 victory over Stonehill College in Northeast Conference action on Thursday night at Merkert Gymnasium.

Kaiyem Cleary (Manchester, England/Redemption Christian Academy (NY)/Florida Southern/Florida Southwestern/Ball State) led four Dolphins in double figures with 16 points, 13 of which he scored in the first half, while adding five rebounds and three assists. Graduate student guard

Darrick Jones Jr. (Richmond, Va./Oak Hill Academy/Towson) each tallied 15 points, while McClure nailed four three-pointers and added three steals and Jones Jr. grabbed a team-high six rebounds, drained a trio of three-pointers and posted three steals. Luke Sutherland (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee/Siena/Bryant) recorded 13 first-half points on 5-of-7 shooting, including 3-of-4 from three-point range, while adding four rebounds. Graduate student guard
Isaiah Salter (Charlotte, N.C./Central Cabarrus/American International/Adelphi) dished out seven assists for the third time in the last four games. The team buried its 18 three-pointers (for the second time this season) in 33 attempts for a season-best 54.5-percent, the highest mark by the program since the team shot 56.7 (17-30) from behind the arc in a 108-88 victory over Saint Anselm College on January 25, 2020.
Stonehill, which didn't have a player reach double figures, was led by Louie Semona, who recorded nine points, six rebounds and four assists.
Jones Jr. got the game's scoring started with a put-back dunk of a missed three-pointer and followed with a transition three-pointer.
After Stonehill scored four of the next six points, graduate student guard
Mike DePersia (Cherry Hill, N.J./Haddonfield Memorial/IUPUI) drilled a three-pointer and made a jumper around a dunk by Cleary to give the Dolphins a 10-point lead for the first time to force a Stonehill timeout with 15:13 left.
The teams traded points over the next nine minutes as Le Moyne's lead bounced between eight and 13 points and settled at 30-22 with 6:31 left on a lay-up by Stonehill's Todd Brogna.
Le Moyne closed out the half with the final 18 points to take a 48-22 lead into halftime. Sutherland led the streak with 11 points on a jumper and trio of three-pointers, while Cleary had five points and sophomore guard
Trent Mosquera (Brookline, Mass./Belmont Hill School) hit a jumper in the paint.
After Stonehill scored the first basket of the second half, the Dolphins, specifically Jones Jr., scored eight straight points to extend their lead to 30+ for the first time.
The Skyhawks scored 12 of the next 15 points to trim their deficit to 23, 59-36, with 11:18 left. Semona scored the first five points, while three others accounted for the next seven points.
Le Moyne countered with 19 consecutive points over 3:24 to push its lead to 40+ for the first time. Freshman guard
AJ Dancler (Indianapolis, Ind./Southport) made two free throws, McClure scored seven points in 47 seconds, Mosquera made a lay-up, McClure connected on two free throws, Cleary drilled a three-pointer from the right corner and then Salter buried a three-pointer.
After Brogna made two free throws to snap the run, Dancler nailed a three-pointer for the largest lead of the game at 81-38 with 6:28 to play.
Following five points from each team over the next two minutes, the Skyhawks closed out the game with 14 of the last 16 points to deliver the final margin. Austin Abrams accounted for nine of the points, while Thatcher Stone had three and Semona had a dunk.
Le Moyne (10-13, 5-4 NEC), which improved to 11-11 all-time at Stonehill, renews another former NE10 rivalry on Saturday at Merrimack College at 3:00 p.m. The matchup will air on ESPN+ as part of the NEC's broadcast package.
