DELAWARE STATE DEFEATS BASEBALL, 7-3

Dover, Del. – The Delaware State Hornets claimed a 7-3 win over the Le Moyne baseball team on Saturday at Bob Reed Stadium to clinch the series victory.

Second baseman Evan Bouldin and third baseman Chance Satcho both drove in two runs for the Hornets, while Kieran Etwaru earned the win on the mound after tallying 11 strikeouts with five hits, two walks and two earned runs allowed in 7.0 innings of work.

Eddie Del Valle held the Dolphins scoreless for the final two innings.

Le Moyne left fielder Jason Boule (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) hit his first home of the season, a two-run shot, in the top of the seventh. Third baseman Adam Sullivan (Syracuse, N.Y./Marcellus) registered a team-high two runs and a team-high two hits with a stolen base for the Dolphins.

Left-handed starting pitcher Jacob Crystal (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) went 6.0 innings for the 'Phins and recorded four strikeouts with five hits and three earned runs allowed. Right-handers Kennen Smith (Poughquag, N.Y./Arlington) and Wyatt Patchett (Geneva, N.Y./Geneva) each threw one scoreless inning in relief.

Delaware State held a 5-0 lead after four innings before catcher Brody Keneston (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Ballston Spa) drove in Le Moyne's first run with a single to left field.

"We just haven't played well the last few days," said Le Moyne head coach Scott Cassidy '98. "Making too many mistakes. We've got a few guys hitting well right now and hopefully it gets contagious. Tomorrow is a big game for us. We gotta come out and be ready from pitch one," Cassidy added.

The two sides will conclude the series on Sunday at 1 p.m. DSU, which won game one on Friday by a score of 12-10, will have a chance to claim a series sweep.
