Syracuse, N.Y. – St. John's University scored seven straight goals en route to a 9-7 victory over the Le Moyne College men's lacrosse team on Saturday afternoon at Ted Grant Field.
Le Moyne exploded out of the gates with four straight goals over the opening seven minutes. Junior attackman
Isaac Frechette (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) opened the scoring 2:04 into the contest after taking a pass from senior midfielder

Ethan Loun (West Linn, Ore./West Linn) netted his 12th goal of the season with 10:54 left in the quarter. Just 80 seconds later, Caves fired in his second goal of the year to force a St. John's timeout. After a turnover by each team, senior midfielder
Seth Benedict (Stanley, N.Y./Marcus Whitman) posted his sixth goal of the campaign.
The Red Storm answered with the next two goals to cut their deficit in half. Bobby Seel got his team on the scoreboard with 3:50 left in the quarter. Only 36 seconds later, Jake Wright scored his sixth goal of the year off a dish from Caleb Zuhoski.
Frechette closed out the scoring in the quarter with 16 seconds left with his eighth goal of the season after receiving a pass from Loun.
St. John's scored all three goals of the second quarter to even the score at five. Brian Kelly made it 5-3 with 13:03 left with a goal in transition off a feed from Jordan Hayes. Seel followed with his 18th goal of the campaign with 9:19 to go off a pass from Kelly. Seel then tied the score at the 2:57 mark after receiving a dish from Wright in an extra-man situation.
Each team put a shot on goal in the final 19 seconds, but the goalkeepers were up to the task as the teams went into the intermission tied at five.
The Red Storm continued its run with the only two goals of the third quarter. Almost four and one-half minutes into the period, Zuhoski recorded his 10th goal of the season off a pass from Sean Duffy to put the Red Storm in front. Kelly made it a two-goal game with his 18th goal of the year with 6:00 to go.
St. John's extended its lead to four with the first two goals of the fourth quarter. Kelly completed his hat trick with 8:29 remaining in the game. Richie Reid followed with his sixth goal of the season only 32 seconds later for a 9-5 lead.
Le Moyne snapped a scoring drought of 37:58 midway through the fourth. After the Dolphins won the faceoff after Reid's goal, Benedict scored off a drive down the left alley with 7:18 to play.

Jack Grooms (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill/Hobart) netted his seventh goal of the season with 2:16 to play.
The Red Storm won the next faceoff and worked 1:06 off the clock before going out of bounds. Le Moyne successfully cleared the ball and put a shot on goal with 45 seconds left, but it was saved. Each team committed a turnover in the final 12 seconds.
Ruhm finished the contest with 12 saves, his fifth game this season with at least 12. Kyle Munson registered 16 saves, including five in the second quarter and six in the fourth, in the victory for the Red Storm.
Le Moyne (2-5) heads back on the road to ninth-ranked Yale University on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. The Bulldogs are led by Andy Shay, who played for the Dolphins from 1990-92 and was an All-Empire League selection in 1992.
