#10/11 YALE REGISTERS 21-10 WIN OVER MEN’S LACROSSE

New Haven, Conn. – #10/11 Yale University received goals from 15 players en route to a 21-10 victory over the Le Moyne College men's lacrosse team on Tuesday night at Reese Stadium.
 
The Bulldogs, who are led by former Dolphin Andy Shay '94, opened the scoring with a pair of goals in the first 2:12. Christian Johnson got his team on the scoreboard at the 13:33 mark with his first goal of the season off a feed from Max Krevsky. Matt Brandau followed 45 seconds later with his 17th goal of the year after taking a pass from Carson Kuhl.

Le Moyne countered with two goals to knot the score. Senior midfielder Kyle Caves (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) made it 2-1 with his third goal of the year at the 9:12 mark off a dish from graduate student midfielder Jack Grooms (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill/Hobart). Redshirt junior attackman Ethan Loun (West Linn, Ore./West Linn) tallied his 13th marker of the season with 5:47 left to even the score.

The teams split the final two goals of the quarter. Patrick Hackler gave the lead back to the Bulldogs with 5:05 left, but freshman attackman Mason Ciciarelli (Clay, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) answered 1:17 later with his third goal of the campaign off a feed from Loun to tie the score at three.

Yale blew the game open with the first eight goals of the second quarter. Brandau gave his team the lead for good 1:02 into the period. Thomas Bragg followed at the 11:04 mark with his eighth goal of the season. Krevsky scored the next three goals, the second of which was assisted by Kuhl. Following Krevsky's third goal of the run, Johnny Keib scored 25 seconds later off a feed from Kuhl. Jack Monfort then tallied his first goal of the season 13 seconds later. Logan Soelberg capped the spurt of four goals in 62 seconds and eight goals in 9:23 with his third of the season with 5:37 until halftime.

Off a Yale turnover to the left of the net, Ciciarelli scooped up the loose ball and dumped it into the net with 1:53 left in the half.

Le Moyne extended its run to three straight goals with the first two of the third quarter. Just 1:18 in, Caves scored from the right edge of the crease. Loun followed with 11:39 remaining by finishing off a pass from junior midfielder Olin Stanat (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton) an in an extra-man situation to get the Dolphins within 11-6.

The Bulldogs recorded the final four goals of the third quarter. David Anderson scored his 18th goal of the season 34 seconds off Loun after collecting a feed from Keib. After seven scoreless minutes, Brandau posted an unassisted tally. Cole Cashion followed 63 seconds later with his second goal of the campaign. Kuhl finished off the quarter's scoring with nine seconds left off a pass from Bragg.

Yale scored four times over the opening four and one-half minutes of the fourth quarter. Kuhl recorded his 18th goal of the year at the 12:43 mark, while Anderson followed 15 seconds later with his 19th of the season off a pass from Brandau. Just over one minute later, Peter Moynihan netted his fourth goal of the season after taking a feed from Cashion. Tristan Ghosh capped the jaunt with his first goal of the season with 10:34 left.

Le Moyne countered with three goals over three and one-half minutes. Caves recorded his third goal of the night with 7:52 to go. Just over two and one-half minutes later, Loun tallied his third goal of the evening after taking a pass in transition from Grooms. Junior short-stick defensive midfielder Nick Louise (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) found the back of the net for the first time this season with 4:27 left off a dish from senior short-stick defensive midfielder Max Cramer (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius).

Kevin Kuttin got the Bulldogs to 20 goals with his first of the season with 3:47 remaining off a pass from William Sheehan.

Loun finished off Le Moyne's scoring with 1:56 to play with a move to the crease from the left side.

Sheehan capped the game's scoring with his second of the year with 1:00 left.

Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Carter Ruhm (Apalachin, N.Y./Vestal/Bridgton Academy/Robert Morris) took the loss between the pipes after making seven saves (against 11 goals) in 24:23. Jared Paquette turned away four shots (against six goals) over 40:22 to earn the win.

Le Moyne (2-6) returns to action on Friday, April 12 at Bucknell University at 7:30 p.m.
