Syracuse, N.Y. – Following an eight-game road stretch, the Le Moyne College baseball team will return to Dick Rockwell Field this weekend to host the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks for a three-game Northeast Conference series.

The two sides will play a doubleheader on Friday beginning at 12 p.m., and game three is set for Saturday at 1 p.m. All three games will be streamed on NEC Front Row.

Friday will mark the first-ever meeting between Le Moyne and UMES.

Le Moyne (15-24, 9-14 NEC) will be looking to snap a four-game skid, as the Dolphins most recently suffered 4-3 loss at Canisius University on Tuesday after getting swept by Central Connecticut State University last weekend.

Sophomore infielder Adam Sullivan (Syracuse, N.Y./Marcellus) launched his first home run of the season during the setback at Canisius and finished the game with a team-high two hits.

Le Moyne was narrowly defeated by CCSU in extra innings in game one of the NEC series on April 26. Left-handed starting pitcher Jacob Crystal (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) limited the Blue Devils to six hits, two walks and one run in 9.0 innings, but Central Connecticut State tallied two runs in the bottom of the 10th to claim a 3-2 win and take the first game of the series.

Shortstop Nick Nevins (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Roy C. Ketcham) currently leads the Dolphins in batting average (.305), hits (46), doubles (13) and is tied the lead in home runs alongside Wyatt Patchett (Geneva, N.Y./Geneva) with six.

Center fielder Zach Brush (.304), first baseman Dewey Roden (.307) and second baseman Mike Whelehan (.304) are each hitting above .300 in 23 conference starts. Infielder Brody Keneston (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Ballston Spa) leads the Dolphins in RBIs (30) and RBIs during conference play (19).

Right-handed pitcher Jordan Goldmann (Encinitas, Calif./Canyon Crest Academy/Palomar College/Grossmont College) leads Le Moyne in wins during conference play with a 4-2 record during his seven NEC starts.

The Dolphins are 6-1 at home so far this season, and defeated Niagara by a score of 9-4 in their most recent home game on April 16.

The UMES Hawks are looking for their first win this season, and are currently 0-21 against Northeast Conference opponents.

Maryland Eastern Shore is led by first-year head coach Danny Acosta, who spent the previous three seasons as the head coach at Iowa Lake Community College. The Hawks qualified for the 2023 NEC Tournament after compiling a 14-16 record in NEC play

So far this season, freshman catcher Taylor Bronson leads the Hawks in batting average (.407), on-base percentage (.474), slugging percentage (.651), hits (35), runs (17), doubles (9), home runs (4) and runs batted in (20) through 32 appearances and 23 starts. Fifth-year outfielder Derrick Mayes II has tallied 28 hits, three home runs, 12 RBIs and a team-high 15 walks this season for the Hawks.

Right-handed pitchers Cade Williams (11 appearances/eight starts/43.0 innings pitched) and Gary Hallmen Jr. (15 appearances/one start/34.0 innings pitched) have each tallied a team-high 24 strikeouts in 2024.
