Vestal, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men's soccer team fell to Binghamton University on Sunday by a score of 1-0 in non-conference action at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
Senior Charlie Kaldor put away the winning goal for Binghamton in the 83
rd minute with an assist from sophomore forward Marcus Nahim.
Binghamton outshot Le Moyne 8-5 during the 90 minutes, including a 5-3 advantage during the second half.
The Bearcats created a great chance nine minutes into the game, as Nahim slipped a pass behind the Le Moyne defense for graduate midfielder Tom Cohen, but Le Moyne sophomore goalkeeper
Wyatt Dupell (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) came up with a point blank save to keep the game scoreless. Dupell finished the match with three saves.
In the 21
st minute, Le Moyne redshirt-freshman
Justin Pham (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool/Dayton) dribbled at his defender on the left sideline, and sent a pass towards the end line for freshman forward
Rhys Allport (Wirral, England/Reaseheath). Allport drew two defenders and sent a pass back into the left side of the penalty area for Pham, who dropped the ball off to his right for redshirt-junior midfielder
Ziad Abdul-Malak (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius). Abdul-Malak took a shot with his first touch, but it rose up and over the bar for a goal kick.
The Dolphins earned a corner kick in the 71
st minute, which led to a shot from redshirt-junior midfielder
Jakob Priestman (Leek, England/Westwood/Missouri State) that flew over the crossbar.
Dupell made his lone save of the second half in the 75
th minute on a shot taken by Binghamton senior forward Mael Lopes.
Binghamton broke the tie in the 83
rd minute when Nahim got free on the right wing and sent a cross on the ground into the Le Moyne penalty area. The pass was deflected and rolled in front of Kaldor, who stepped forward and placed his right-footed shot into the bottom left corner of the goal.

Michael Krzeminski (Fort Myers, Fla./Fort Myers) tossed a long throw into the penalty area, where graduate forward
Noah Sperduto (Elmira, N.Y./Elmira) hit a shot that was blocked by the defense, and then cleared beyond the end line for a Le Moyne corner kick.
Le Moyne earned its final corner kick with just over a minute remaining in the match, but the delivery from Redshirt-senior defender
Jack Goodrich (Kelsall, England/King's School Chester) was cleared away for a throw in.
Krzeminski provided another long throw into the box for the Dolphins, but the ball bounced among a crowd of players and was caught by Binghamton goalkeeper Dylan McDermott.
With the win the Bearcats improve to 2-0 this season, while the Dolphins drop to 1-1.
The Le Moyne men's soccer team will return to action on September 2 with a 7 p.m. match at Syracuse University.
