MEN’S GOLF TIES FOR 11TH PLACE AT COLGATE’S ALEX LAGOWITZ MEMORIAL TO OPEN SEASON

Hamilton, N.Y. – Junior Anthony Maglisco (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) tied for 29th place to lead the Le Moyne College men's golf team to a tie for 11th-place finish at the 15-team Alex Lagowitz Memorial hosted by Colgate University on Saturday and Sunday at the par-72, 7125-yard Seven Oaks Golf Club.

The U.S. Naval Academy and Seton Hall University tied for first place in the team standings with a three-under par 573. Navy posted rounds of 289 and 284, while Seton Hall had scores of 291 and 282. Yale University placed third with a 579 off rounds of 289 and 290. Le Moyne tied for 11th place with Lehigh University with a total of 600 after posting scores of 295 and 305. Villanova University's Ryan Pamer earned medalist honors with a six-under par 138 off rounds of 67 and 71.

Maglisco finished the 36 holes with a four-over par total of 148 to land in a seven-way tie for 29th place. He opened with a two-under par 70 (tied for the second-best round of his collegiate career) to land in a three-way tie for fifth place. He closed out the invitational with a 78 on Sunday.

Freshman Jacob Moody (Oakland, Maine/Messalonskee) opened his collegiate career by finishing in a 10-way tie for 48th place with a 151 off rounds of 78 and 73. Senior Peter Hatton (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt) placed in a five-way tie for 61st with a 153 following scores of 74 and 79. Freshman Mac Quinn (Glenwood, N.Y./Canisius HS) was one shot back in a nine-way tie for 66th after turning in rounds of 79 and 75. Sophomore Owen Corby (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) and freshman Mike Maslanka (Taylor, Pa./Riverside) were part of a five-way tie for 78th with a total of 156. Corby had scores of 77 and 79, while Maslanka carded a 74 and an 82. Freshman Miles Tauzin-Fox (Los Angeles, Calif./New West Charter School), who played as an individual, tied for 90th with a 161 off scores of 82 and 79.

The Dolphins are back in action on Monday, September 9 for the first day (36 holes) of Marshall University's Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational at Guyan Golf & Country Club in Huntington, West Virginia
