MEN’S TENNIS REGISTERS 12 VICTORIES AT NATERENTALS.COM NEC INVITATIONAL

| Box Score 3 Binghamton, N.Y. - Senior Xavier Branagan (Wollstonecraft, Australia/St. Aloysius' College) won his singles and doubles brackets to lead the Le Moyne College men's tennis team at the NateRentals.com NEC Invitational hosted by Binghamton University Friday through Sunday at the Lane-Starke Tennis Center.

In the "A" Doubles draw, freshmen Luke Hoyland (Sheffield, England/Birkdale School) and Jacob Maravillas (Bergenfield, N.J./Homeschooled) went 2-1. They opened the weekend with a 6-0 win over Wagner's Nivault and Rodriguez. They followed with a 7-6 (7-4) victory in the quarterfinals over FDU's Oboniye and Linley. In the semifinals, they fell 6-0 to Gonzalez and Kruzel from Saint Francis.

In the "B" Doubles bracket, freshmen Lorenzo Bortolaso (Bassano del Grappa, Italy) and Navya Verma (Patiala, India) went 1-2. They opened with a 6-3 loss to LIU's Hible and Hornung. They answered back with a 6-1 victory over Zhao and Challagundla from Wagner. They fell to FDU's Schwartz and Alonso-Cortes, 6-3, in the fifth-place match.

After receiving a bye in the first round of the "C" Doubles, Branagan and sophomore Yegor Boyev (London, England/Ashcroft Technology Academy) went 1-1 and won the bracket. They were 7-6 (7-3) winners in the semifinals over Cabue and Winsnes from Mercyhurst. They claimed the finals match by default against Stonehill's Rodrigues and Duhil deBenaze. In an extra match, they fell 6-3 to Binghamton's Binnie and Arbittier.
 
Hoyland suffered a pair of losses in the "A" Singles draw. In the first round, he fell 6-1, 6-1 to Binghamton's Ronin Lotlikar, the third seed. In a consolation match, he fell to FDU's Griffin Minor, 7-6 (7-3), 6-1.

Bortolaso dropped a pair of matches in the "D" Singles bracket. He fell to FDU's Jorge Alonso-Cortes, 2-6, 6-3, 10-7, in the first round. In a consolation match, Beau Welker from Saint Francis recorded a 2-6, 7-5, 10-5 victory.

Maravillas claimed fifth place in the "E" Singles draw. He opened with a 6-3, 7-5 setback to Binghamton's Jonathan Arbittier. After a walkover win in the consolation semifinals, he defeated Wagner's Vibhu Challagundla, 7-6(10-8) 6-7 (3) 10-5 to take fifth place.

Verma went 3-0 to win the "F" Singles flight. He started his run with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Wagner's Gabriele Zuggarelli. He then tallied a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Mercyhurst's Derek Winsnes. He won the draw with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Donovan Rodrigues from Stonehill.

Branagan went 3-0 in the "G" Singles draw, while Boyev went 2-1. Branagan was a 6-2, 6-0 victor Mercyhurst's Avik Agrawal. He then recorded a 6-2, 7-6 (7-2) win in the semifinals over FDU's Benjamin Wranon. He collected the victory in the finals, 6-4, 6-1, over Wagner's Jordan Hunte.

Boyev opened the weekend with back-to-back scores of 6-2 against Stonehill's Mathias Langaard. He followed with a 6-3, 6-1 setback to Jordan Hunte of Wagner. He earned third place with a 6-4, 7-6 (7-2) victory over Benjamin Wrann from FDU.

The Dolphins return to action at the ITA Regional at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts on October 17.
