MEN’S GOLF PLACES 12TH AT BUCKNELL INVITATIONAL

Lewisburg, Pa. – Senior Anthony Maglisco (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) tied for seventh place to lead the Le Moyne College men's golf team to a 12th-place finish at the Bucknell Invitational Sunday through Tuesday at the par-70, 6224-yard Bucknell Golf Club.

Youngstown State University won the team competition with a three-day total of 857 following rounds of 292, three-under 277 and 288. Robert Morris University placed second at 862 off scores of 281, 289 and 292. Colgate University finished third at 863 after rounds of 290, 290 and 283. The Dolphins placed 12th with an 882 following scores of 293, 295 and 294.

Maglisco, who tied for ninth at the event last year, registered a 54-hole total of 214, which included seven birdies and 38 pars, while he was just one of two players in the 112-competitor field to shoot par or better on the par-4s. He opened the invitational with a 72, which featured two birdies and 13 pars, to land in a 17-way tie for 18th place. He then carded a 71 on Monday, which included three birdies and 11 pars, to jump into an eight-way tie for 11th place. He moved up another four spots on Tuesday with another 71, which featured two birdies, including on his final hole, and 14 pars. Maglisco finished in the top-eight for the third consecutive event, becoming the first Dolphin to do so since Jonathan Petrin '20 did so at four straight events in Fall 2019.

Sophomore Miles Tauzin-Fox (Los Angeles, Calif./New West Charter School) finished in a nine-way tie for 41st place with a career best-tying 220, which included six birdies and 33 pars. He turned in a 73 in the first round, which featured two birdies and 11 pars, to land in a 15-way tie for 35th place. He followed with a 75 in the second round, including two birdies and 10 pars, to end the day in a seven-way tie for 48th place. He registered a 72 on the final day, which featured two more birdies and 12 pars, to move up seven spots.

Sophomore Jacob Moody (Oakland, Maine/Messalonskee) recorded a 223, including five birdies and 32 pars, to finish in a nine-way tie for 59th place. He joined Maglisco in the 17-way tie for 18th after a first-round 72, which featured two birdies and 12 pars. He recorded a 77 in the second round, including one birdie and nine pars, to land in a 15-way tie for 55th place. He closed out the invitational with a 74, featuring two birdies and 11 pars, on Tuesday.

Sophomore George Green (Hilton, N.Y./Hilton) finished in a five-way tie for 86th with a 228 total, which featured seven birdies and 29 pars. He carded a 79 in the first round, including two birdies and nine pars, to land in a six-way tie for 102nd. He moved into a nine-way tie for 74th with a 72 on the second day, which featured four birdies and nine more pars. He had a 77 in the third round, including one birdie and 11 pars.

Junior Owen Corby (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) tied for 98th place with a 232, which featured two birdies and 33 pars. He was in a 17-way tie for 68th with an opening-round 76, which included two birdies and 10 pars. He recorded a 79 in the second round, featuring 11 pars, to land in a tie for 94th place. He capped the event with a 77, including 12 pars.

Sophomore Mac Quinn (Glenwood, N.Y./Canisius HS), who played as an individual, carded five birdies and 29 pars en route to a 231 to finish in a four-way tie for 94th place. He joined Green in the tie for 102nd with a 79 in the first round, including two birdies and eight pars. He registered another 79 on Monday, featuring one birdie and nine pars, to move to a four-way tie for 103rd. He moved up nine spots with a 73 in the final round, including two birdies and 12 pars.
 
The Dolphins close out the Fall semester at the Holy Cross Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at the Worcester Country Club in Worcester, Mass.
