Richboro, Pa. – Senior
Anthony Maglisco (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) tied for 12th place to lead the Le Moyne College men's golf team to an eighth-place finish at the ABARTA Coca-Cola Collegiate Invitational hosted by Lafayette College on Sunday and Monday at the par-72, 6548-yard Northampton Country Club.
The host Leopards won the team competition with a four-over par 580 following rounds of 302 and 10-under 278. Towson University placed second with a 581 after scores of 289 and 292. Drexel University finished third at 582 off rounds of 293 and 289. The Dolphins placed eighth, up a spot from last year, at 598 following back-to-back scores of 299. Drexel's John Stevenson earned medalist honors after registering a four-under 140 following rounds of 71 and 69.
Maglisco tied for 12th in the 98-player field with a two-over par 146, which included four birdies and 26 pars. He opened with a 73, featuring two birdies and 13 pars, to land in a seven-way tie for 17th place. He tallied another 73, including two birdies and 13 pars, on Monday to move up five places.
Junior
Owen Corby (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) finished in a four-way tie for 32nd place with a 150, which featured eight birdies and 18 pars. He joined Maglisco in the seven-way tie for 17th on Sunday at 73, which included five birdies and eight pars. He followed with a 77 in the second round, featuring three birdies and 10 pars.
Sophomore
Mac Quinn (Glenwood, N.Y./Canisius HS) was one shot back in a six-way tie for 36th at 151, which included seven birdies and 17 pars. He turned in a 78, featuring three birdies and seven pars, in the first round to end the day in a nine-way tie for 59th place. He jumped 23 places on Monday with a 73, which included four birdies and 10 pars.
Sophomore
Tyler Stark (Hilton, N.Y./Hilton) landed in a 12-way tie for 48th place at 153, which featured eight birdies and 14 pars. He posted a 77 on Sunday, including four birdies and seven pars, to end the round in a 10-way tie for 49th. He moved up a place after the second round with a 76, featuring four birdies and seven pars.
Sophomore
Jacob Moody (Oakland, Maine/Messalonskee) finished in a seven-way tie for 64th with a 155, which included four birdies and 20 pars. He registered a first-round 76, which featured four birdies and eight pars, to land in an 11-way tie for 38th. On Monday, he turned in a 79, including 12 pars.
Freshman
Jacob Olearczyk (Barneveld, N.Y./Holland Patent), who played as an individual, joined Stark in the tie for 48th at 153, which included one birdie and 26 pars. He was in an eight-way tie for 74th after a first-round 80, which featured 11 pars. He vaulted up the standings on Monday with a 73, including one birdie and 15 pars.
The Dolphins return to the links on Friday, April 24 at the NEC Championship, which is being held at Turf Valley Resort in Ellicott City, Maryland.
