Recap:

The Dolphins and Skyhawks faced off at Ted Grant Field in what was the 26th time the two sides met, dating back to October 4th, 1997 when both programs were in the NE10. Le Moyne entered today's match following a 2-0 win over New Haven. Stonehill returned to Syracuse following a 2-2 tie against CCSU.

The rainy conditions played a factor throughout the game, as both sides struggled to find a chance on goal. Sophomore goalkeeper Mikayla McPheron (Rome, N.Y./Rome Free Academy) made her first save of the game in the 12th minute of action off a shot taken by freshman midfielder Dani Lomuscio headed toward the bottom left corner.

McPheron was called into action again five minutes later, this time stopping a shot taken by sophomore forward Martha Lord, as her attempt went down the center of the goal.

Fifth year midfielder Gabriella Sylstra (Little Falls, N.Y./Little Falls/Richard Bland/Old Dominion) and freshman midfielder Grace Gironda (Red Bank, N.J./Middletown South) entered the game in the 25th minute looking to provide a spark for the 'Phins.

McPheron made her third save of the game in the 29th minute off a shot taken by senior forward Hannah Anselmo as her attempt was down the center of the goal. Junior forward Hope Adigun (Clay, N.Y./Liverpool) and freshman defender/midfielder Finley Brown (South Portland, Maine/Cheverus) made their first appearances of the game in the 33rd minute.

McPheron made her fourth save of the game in the 40th minute off a shot taken by junior midfielder Casey Rice as her attempt was headed down the center of the goal. Freshman midfielder Ella Lathrop (Walworth, N.Y./Ruben A. Cirillo) made her first appearance of the game four minutes before halftime. Two minutes later, Adigun forced sophomore goalkeeper Allie Sougaris into making her first save of the game as her shot was headed just under the crossbar.

The two programs went into the break with the score level at 0-0.

McPheron made two back-to-back saves in the 50th minute off shots taken by sophomore midfielder Anya Zub and junior midfielder Casey Rice to keep the score even. It wasn't until three minutes later when Stonehill scored the opening goal of the game. Junior forward Annie Renz had the ball on the right wing before playing in a cross. The ball bounced off the gloves of McPheron, as junior forward Kayla Cassidy was the first to react, placing her shot beyond McPheron to give the Skyhawks a 1-0 lead.

In the 71st minute, Adigun forced Sougaris into making her second save of the game off her shot that was headed towards the bottom left. Mikayla made her seventh and final save of the game in the 74th minute of the game.

Neither side were able to create a concrete chance as the game came to a close with the Skyhawks taking all three points.
