Bridgewater, N.J. – Le Moyne College sophomore goalkeeper
Lucas Winger (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) has been named the Northeast Conference men's lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Winger earned the recognition after registering a 7.00 goals against average, 33 saves and a .702 save percentage in Le Moyne's 1-1 week. He opened the week by recording 17 saves, including nine in the third quarter, in an 8-5 setback at Navy on Tuesday. In his first career home start, he tallied 16 saves, including eight in the fourth quarter, in an 11-6 victory over Cleveland State on Saturday.
Through five appearances, including three starts, he has a 7.94 goals against average, 55 saves and a .640 save percentage over 234:14 between the pipes. His goals against average and save percentage are both the top marks in the NEC.
Le Moyne (5-3, 2-0 NEC), which has won 12 straight conference games, is back in action on Saturday at the University of Detroit Mercy at 12:00 p.m.
