MEN’S GOLF PLACES 13TH AT THE BATTLE AT RUM POINTE

Berlin, Md. – Sophomore Owen Corby (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) finished as part of a tie for 51st place to lead the Le Moyne College men's golf team to a 13th-place finish at the Battle at Rum Pointe hosted by Iona University on Friday and Saturday at the Rum Pointe Seaside Golf Links.

Fairfield University won the team competition with a nine-under score of 567 after recording rounds of even-par 288 and nine-under 279. Colgate University and the host Gaels tied for second place with a one-under par 575. Colgate posted scores of even-par 288 and one-under 287, while Iona turned in a four-over par 292 and a five-under par 283. The Dolphins placed 13th with a two-day score of 618 off rounds of 306 and 312. Fairfield's Peter Crowe earned medalist honors with a five-under par 139 following rounds of two-under par 70 and three-under par 69.

Corby finished in a six-way tie for 51st place with a 36-hole total of 152, which featured five birdies and 20 pars. He was part of a 14-way tie for 40th place after the first day with a four-over par 76, which included two birdies and 11 pars. He carded another 76 on Saturday and recorded three birdies and nine pars.

Freshmen George Green (Hilton, N.Y./Hilton) tallied back-to-back rounds of 77 to finish in a six-way tie for 63rd place with a 154, which included six birdies and 16 pars. He had four birdies and six pars to land in a 12-way tie for 66th place after the first round. Green had two birdies and 10 pars en route to his second-round 77.

Junior Anthony Maglisco (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) landed in a four-way tie for 69th place with a 155, which featured four birdies and 20 pars. He was part of a 14-way tie for 40th place with a four-over par 76 after the first round, which included three birdies and 10 pars. He followed with a 79 on Saturday, which featured one birdie and 10 pars.

Freshman Tyler Stark (Hilton, N.Y./Hilton) finished in a three-way tie for 81st place with a 159, which included three birdies and 17 pars. He turned in a first-round 77 to land in a 12-way tie for 66th place, while having three birdies and nine pars. He posted eight more pars in the second round en route to an 82.

Freshman Mike Maslanka (Taylor, Pa./Riverside) tied for 84th place with a 160, which featured one birdie and 23 pars. He was in a three-way tie for 79th after a first-day 80, which included 12 pars. He carded another 80 on Saturday, which featured one birdie and 11 pars.

Sophomore Carter Mizro (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn), who is played as an individual, finished in a five-way tie for 44th place with a total of 150, which featured four birdies and 22 pars. He was in a three-way tie for eighth after the first round with an even-par 72, which included three birdies and 12 pars. He followed with a 78 in the second round, which featured one birdie and 10 pars.

The Dolphins are back in action April 6 and 7 at the Abarta Coca-Cola Collegiate Invitational hosted by Lafayette College at Northampton Golf Club in Richboro, Pennsylvania.
