Bridgewater, N.J. – Le Moyne College sophomore goalkeeper
Lucas Winger (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) has been named the Northeast Conference men's lacrosse co-Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Winger collected the honor for the second straight week after making 13 saves, including seven in the second quarter, in Le Moyne's 8-5 win at Detroit Mercy on Saturday. He also recorded a pair of ground balls. His 66 saves over the last five games are the most by a Dolphin in a five-game span since at least 2002.
Through six appearances, including starts in each of the last four games, he has a 7.34 goals against average, 68 saves and a .654 save percentage over 294:14 between the pipes. His goals against average and save percentage are both the top marks in the NEC.
Le Moyne (6-3, 2-0 NEC), which has won 13 straight conference games, returns home to face Wagner College on Saturday at 12:00 p.m.
