Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men's lacrosse team will renew a long-time rivalry on Saturday afternoon at Mercyhurst University at 3:00 p.m.
The Dolphins and Lakers are meeting for the 12th time, with the Dolphins holding a 10-1 advantage, including 2-0 in Erie. So far this season, the teams have three common opponents, St. Bonaventure, VMI and Cleveland State, with the Dolphins going 3-0 and the Lakers going 0-3. Le Moyne defeated St. Bonaventure, 10-9, while Mercyhurst lost to the Bonnies, 11-9. The Dolphins topped VMI, 10-9, while the Lakers fell to the Keydets, 18-12. Le Moyne downed Cleveland State, 11-6, while Mercyhurst lost to the Vikings, 13-10.
Le Moyne is 7-4 on the year, including 4-0 in NEC play, and is coming off a 11-7 setback to Bucknell on Tuesday. Redshirt sophomore attackman
Thomas Berry led the Dolphins offensively with four points on three goals and one assist. Freshman midfielder

Lucas Winger recorded 13 saves between the pipes for the third consecutive game.
On the season, Berry leads six Dolphins with double-digit points with 24 on a team-high 17 goals and seven assists. Graduate student midfielder
Ethan Loun has 23 points on 12 goals and a team-best 11 assists. Graduate student attackman
Zachary Delaney has 15 goals and five assists for 20 points. McDermott has 19 points on nine goals and 10 assists. Senior midfielder
Ryan Eisenmann has 12 goals and six assists for 18 points. Junior
Owen Wilson rounds out the sextet with 13 points on 11 goals and two assists. Senior
Sam Getty has taken over 80-percent of the team's faceoffs and has won 93 of 183 attempts (.508) and has a team-best 38 ground balls. Graduate student short-stick defensive midfielder
Jack Sullivan leads the defense with eight caused turnovers, while redshirt freshman
Jake Baker leads defenders with 15 ground balls. Since taking over between the pipes midway through the Hobart game, Winger has 94 saves, a .648 save percentage and a 7.41 goals against average.
The Lakers, who were picked to finish seventh in the preseason coaches poll, are 1-9 in their first year at the Division I level, including 0-4 in NEC action. They are coming off a 13-10 home loss to Cleveland State. Ethan Landymore led the Lakers with five goals. Jérémi Phoenix-Lefebvre, who had the game-winning goal against the Dolphins with 1:55 left in the 2023 NCAA Semifinals, had five points on three goals and two assists, while Chase Petschke had one goal and two assists. Tyler Moritzen made eight saves in the setback.
Mercyhurst opened the year with February losses to Bellarmine, UMass Lowell, Queens University of Charlotte and St. Bonaventure. The Lakers opened March with a victory over Hampton for their first Division I win. They followed with setbacks to Richmond, LIU, VMI, Robert Morris to close out March. They opened April with the Cleveland State loss.
The Lakers are led offensively by Landymore and Phoenix-Lefebvre, who each have 29 points. Landymore has 25 goals and four assists, while Phoenix-Lefebvre has 18 goals and a team-best 11 assists. Ryan Mahoney has 26 points on 17 goals and nine assists. Antonio Rossetti has 14 points on nine goals and five assists, while Petschke also has five assists to go with eight goals for 13 points. The Lakers have four players with at least 50 faceoffs, led by Kevin Sprague, who is 29 of 84 (.345). Brenton Paladino leads the team with 17 caused turnovers and has 18 ground balls. Moritzen has played 494 of 600 minutes between the pipes and has a 14.08 goals against average, 101 saves and a .465 save percentage.
