MEN’S GOLF IN SIXTH PLACE AFTER FIRST ROUND OF NORTHEAST CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP

Williamsburg, Va. – Sophomore Owen Corby (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) is in a tie for fifth place as the Le Moyne College men's golf team is in sixth place following the first round of the Northeast Conference Championship on Thursday at the par-71, 6831-yard Kingsmill Resort River Course.

Preseason favorite LIU is atop the leaderboard after the first day following a one-under par 283. Howard University, the defending champion, is two behind in second place following a one-over 285. FDU is in third place with a 291. The Dolphins are sixth after posting a 303. LIU's André Ulvenes Kleppe is atop the individual leaderboard following a three-under par 68, which included a hole-in-one on the 17th hole.

Corby is in a four-way tie for fifth place in the field of 55 competitors after carding a one-under par 70, which included three birdies and 13 pars.

Junior Anthony Maglisco (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) is in a five-way tie for 19th following a 75, which featured a pair of birdies and 11 pars.

Freshman George Green (Hilton, N.Y./Hilton) is in a seven-way tie for 31st place after posting a 78, which included three birdies and eight pars.

Freshman Jacob Moody (Oakland, Maine/Messalonskee) is tied for 40th place with an 80, which included one birdie and 11 pars.
 
Sophomore Carter Mizro (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn) rounded out the team's competitors with a 92, which included one birdie and five pars, to land in 55th place.

The second round gets underway on Friday at 8:30 a.m. with the Dolphins beginning at 9:30.
