MEN’S GOLF MOVES UP TO TIE FOR FOURTH PLACE ON SECOND DAY OF NORTHEAST CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP

Williamsburg, Va. – Sophomore Owen Corby (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) moved into a tie for third place as the Le Moyne College men's golf team jumped into a tie for fourth place following the second round of the Northeast Conference Championship on Friday at the par-71, 6831-yard Kingsmill Resort River Course.

Preseason favorite LIU increased its standing atop the leaderboard after recording a three-under par 281 and is at four-under 564 after 36 holes. Howard University, the defending champion, is seven behind in second place at 571 after posting a two-over 286. FDU is in third place with a total of 575 after registering an even-par 284. The Dolphins are tied for fourth with Wagner College at 597 after recording a 294, while the Seahawks turned in a 299 on Friday. FDU's Pyae Phyo Thu is atop the individual leaderboard following a three-under par 68 to bring him to five-under par 137.

Corby is in a tie for third place among the 51 competitors to compete in each of the first two rounds at two-under par 140 after carding a second straight one-under par 70, which included an eagle, three birdies and 10 pars. He now has an eagle, six birdies and 23 pars through 36 holes.

Freshman George Green (Hilton, N.Y./Hilton) is in a five-way tie for 22nd place at 151 after following up yesterday's 78 by posting a 73, which featured two birdies and 12 pars. He is up to five birdies and 20 pars through the two days.

Freshman Jacob Moody (Oakland, Maine/Messalonskee) moved up 13 places on Friday and into a three-way tie for 27th place at 152 by recording a 72, which featured an eagle, three birdies and eight pars. He now has an eagle, four birdies and 19 pars through two rounds.

Junior Anthony Maglisco (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) is in 31st place at 154 after turning in a 79 on Friday, which included a pair of birdies and nine pars. Through 36 holes, he has four birdies and 20 pars.

Freshman Mike Maslanka (Taylor, Pa./Riverside) was inserted into the lineup on Friday and turned in an 85, which included nine pars.

The final round gets underway on Saturday at 8:00 a.m. with the Dolphins going off the first tee.
