Syracuse, N.Y. – Seniors Alyssa Dybacz (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Charles W. Baker) of the softball team and Peter Hatton (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville/Club Med Academics/Army West Point) of the men's tennis team have been named finalists for the 2024-25 Northeast Conference Student-Athlete of the Year awards presented by Provident Bank.

The Male and Female Team Student-Athlete of the Year awards are the conference's highest and most prestigious individual honor. The award annually recognizes individual excellence in the academic and athletic realms, as well as leadership and contributions to one's community.

Each of the NEC's nine core members nominate one finalist for each award.

Alyssa Dybacz, a Business Management and Marketing dual major, tallied a team-high 43 hits in 2025 with 12 doubles, two triples, one home run, 21 runs batted in, 20 runs scored and a .312 batting average in 43 starts.

In her four seasons with the Le Moyne softball team, during which she started 183 career games, Dybacz compiled a .349 batting average and .545 slugging percentage with 201 hits, 112 runs, 44 doubles, nine triples, 17 home runs, 105 runs bated in and 18 stolen bases.

Hatton, Finance major, was unanimously voted the Northeast Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Year in 2025 to claim the award for the second consecutive year.

Hatton recorded an 18-4 overall singles record this season, including 16-1 at the first position and 8-0 against NEC opponents. Hatton was also an All-NEC First Team honoree for singles, as well as doubles alongside partner Adrian Daniel (Tel Aviv, Israel/Montana State).

In his four seasons with the Le Moyne men's tennis team, Hatton became the program's all-time leader in singles victories (68) and doubles victories (68).

Both Dybacz and Hatton were recipients of the 2025 Rev. J.J. O'Brien Senior Athlete Achievement Award, which is the most prestigious honor given to a Le Moyne student-athlete.

The winners of the 2025 NEC Student-Athlete of the Year awards were announced on Wednesday, with Saint Francis' Oliva Ulam (Softball) and Andrew Deardoff (Men's Volleyball) taking home the honors.
