BEVILLE, CRANDALL, TRICE AND NOJAIM LEAD HAUDENOSAUNEE AND PUERTO RICO NATIONAL TEAMS TO WORLD LACROSSE WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP BERTHS

Syracuse, N.Y. - Le Moyne College head women's lacrosse coach Liz Beville and assistant coaches Allyson Trice and Paige Crandall '24 of the Haudenosaunee Nationals and former assistant coach and player Adrianna Nojaim '22 M '23, who represented Puerto Rico, helped their teams to berths in the 2026 World Lacrosse Women's Championship with their performance at the Pan-American Lacrosse Association (PALA) Women's Qualifier.

Beville served as an assistant coach, Trice was a defender and Crandall was the starting goalkeeper for the Haudenosaunee, which claimed the bronze medal following a 12-10 victory over Puerto Rico, for whom Nojaim played in the midfield. For her efforts throughout the tournament, Crandall was named to the All-Tournament Team and the Goaltender of the Tournament.

The Haudenosaunee went 2-1 in Pool B to earn a spot in the semifinals, which also clinched a berth in the World Lacrosse Championship next Summer in Tokyo, Japan. The Haudenosaunee opened with a 14-8 setback to Canada, which went on to win Pool B with a 3-0 record and advanced to the gold-medal game. Crandall turned away seven shots in the contest, including five after halftime. On the second day, the Haudenosaunee registered an 18-9 victory over Argentina. Crandall tallied seven saves, including four in the fourth quarter. The team closed out pool play with a 15-6 win over Jamaica. Crandall made three saves (against two goals) during the first half before being relieved for the second half.

The Haudenosaunee fell in the semifinals, 18-8, to the United States, which captured the gold medal on Monday with a 21-11 win over Canada. Crandall kept the Haudenosaunee in the game with 14 saves, including four in each of the third and fourth quarters.

The Haudenosaunee claimed the bronze medal with the aforementioned win over Puerto Rico, during which the team had to overcome a 7-2 halftime deficit and a 9-8 deficit early in the fourth quarter. Crandall made five saves in the contest, including a pair in the final quarter.

Nojaim and Puerto Rico went 2-1 in Pool A to earn a spot in the semifinals and a berth in next Summer's World Lacrosse Championship. The team opened with a 21-5 loss to the United States. They responded with a 14-8 victory over Mexico on the second day. The team clinched its spot in the semifinals with a 20-7 win over Peru. In the semifinals, Puerto Rico fell to Canada, 16-7. The third-place game resulted in the 12-10 setback to the Haudenosaunee.

The 2026 World Lacrosse Women's Championship, which will feature 16 teams, will be held July 24 to August 2 in Tokyo, Japan at Oi Stadium and Prince Chichibu Memorial Stadium.
