Recap:

Temple entered the game following a 3-1 loss against Saint Peter's, an opponent Le Moyne will face Sunday, August 31st, and we're looking to bounce back with a win. The previous time these two sides faced off was in the 2024 season, when the Owls took a 4-0 win over the Dolphins at Ted Grant Field.

Two 'Phins made their debuts in the starting lineup against the Owls, as freshman goalkeeper Sophia Salladin (Fulton, N.Y./Hannibal) and midfield classmate Grace Gironda (Red Bank, N.J./Middletown South) provided a new look for Le Moyne.

The 'Phins and Owls found it tough to create a good chance on goal throughout the first 15 minutes of play, as Le Moyne earned four corners in the opening 11 minutes, but unable to capitalize.

Le Moyne made its first substitution of the game in the 20th minute, as sophomore forward Alivia Day (Rochester, N.Y./Rush-Henrietta) came on to replace junior forward Hope Adigun (Clay, N.Y./Liverpool).

Salladin was forced to make her first save of the game in the 22nd minute, as freshman midfielder Valentina Bitterwolf fired a shot from distance down the center of the goal, resulting in a comfortable save for Sophia.

Sophomore defender Delaney Hoelker earned the first of three yellow cards seen throughout the contest for tugging the back of the jersey of Gironda and pulling her to the ground.

Fifth year midfielder Gabriella Sylstra (Little Falls, N.Y./Little Falls/Richard Bland/Old Dominion) made her first appearance of the game in the 35th minute, coming on to replace Gironda.

Le Moyne registered its first shot of the game in the 44th minute of the 1st half, taken by Adigun but off target. The two sides entered halftime with the score level at 0-0, as both Temple and Le Moyne registered one shot a piece, with the 'Phins having the advantage over the Owls in corners, leading four to one.

Temple jumped out of the gates in the 2nd half quickly, recording a shot within the first two minutes of play, however off target. On the ensuing possession, Sylstra forced freshman goalkeeper Claudia Viau of the Owls to make her first save of the game.

Redshirt-sophomore defender Logan Cookinham (Poland, N.Y./Poland) recorded the first yellow card of the season for Le Moyne in the 51st minute after challenging junior forward Shari Atkins on the wing, resulting in a free kick for the Owls.

Sophomore forward Nicole Calle (Providence, R.I./Cumberland) made her first appearance of the game in the 53rd minute, replacing senior midfielder Lindsey LeBlanc (Westminister, Mass./St. Bernard's).

Temple earned its second yellow card of the game, as junior defender Sabrina Campbell slid in late on freshman defender Finley Brown (South Portland, Maine/Cheverus).

Just a minute later, the Owls found their breakthrough goal in the 56th minute, as Bitterwolf played a long ball in behind of the Dolphin defense, finding the feet of Campbell who slotted it near post past the outstretched hands of Salladin.

Le Moyne made four substitutions over the next four minutes of play, as sophomore defender Mallory Pietrzak (Rochester, N.Y./Penfield) made her first appearance of the game in the 60th minute, with LeBlanc, Adigun, and senior midfielder Alaina Carro (Holland Patent, N.Y./Holland Patent/Wheeling) all returned to the lineup. Freshman midfielder Ella Lathrop (Walworth, N.Y./Ruben A. Cirillo) also entered the game in the 63rd minute of action.

Junior midfielder Giovanna Vigliotti (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) registered her first shot of the game in the 66th minute of play, resulting in another save for Viau.

Temple continued to keep the pressure on Le Moyne, as the Dolphins were unable to trouble the net of the Owls for the remainder of the game. The Owls outshot the 'Phins ten to three in the 2nd half as they went on to win 1-0 for their second win of the season.
