MEN’S GOLF FALLS TO NIAGARA UNIVERSITY IN DUAL MATCH TO OPEN SEASON

Pittsford, N.Y. – Senior Anthony Maglisco (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) tied for fourth to lead the Le Moyne College men's golf team against Niagara University on Sunday afternoon at the par-70, 6898-yard Monroe Golf Club.
 
The Purple Eagles won the matchup with a score of 285, while the Dolphins totaled a 295.
 
Maglisco registered three birdies and 12 pars en route to a 72 to tie for fourth. Sophomore George Green (Hilton, N.Y./Hilton) and freshman Jacob Olearczyk (Barneveld, N.Y./Holland Patent) each turned in a 73 to tie for seventh place. Green had one birdie and 13 pars, while Olearczyk had three birdies and 10 pars in his collegiate debut. Sophomore Mike Maslanka (Taylor, Pa./Riverside) tied for 11th with a 77 after posting 12 pars, while classmate Miles Tauzin-Fox (Los Angeles, Calif./New West Charter School) tied for 13th with a 78 after having one birdie and 10 pars. Freshman Hunter Probst (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) rounded out the team's lineup with an 81, which included one birdie and eight pars.
 
Niagara got a 70 from Ben Herbert (1st), a 71 from Alfredo Migliorini (2nd), a 72 from Carlos Hernandez and Velton Perry (T4th), a 76 from Ryan Thompson (T9th) and an 81 from Andres Rodriguez (T17th).

Junior Carter Mizro (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn), who played as an individual, had the lowest score by a Dolphin with a career-best 71, which included four birdies and 10 pars, to tie for second. Sophomore Tyler Stark (Hilton, N.Y./Hilton), who played as an individual, recorded the first hole-in-one of his life on the 205-yard sixth hole.
 
The Dolphins are back in action on Saturday for the first two rounds of the 54-hole Alex Lagowitz Memorial hosted by Colgate University at Seven Oaks Golf Course in Hamilton, N.Y.
