Annapolis, Md. – The Le Moyne College women's volleyball team will head down the East Coast for the second straight weekend to take part in the Navy Invitational on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 12-13. The Dolphins will match up against Gardner-Webb University on Friday at 3:00 p.m. before wrapping the road trip with a match versus host Navy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.Â

The Dolphins will meet both of their opponents for the first time in program history at the Navy Invitational.Â
'Phins Season:
Le Moyne will reach Annapolis having played to a 1-5 record on the year, with their lone victory coming against Niagara University on Saturday, Aug. 30.
Following the Salt City Classic in which the Dolphins opened the season with their win over Niagara and losses at the hands of both Rider and Syracuse, the team traveled to Delaware to take part in a three-match set at the Blue Hen Invitational last weekend. Le Moyne fell in their three matchups to Hampton (2-3), Virginia Tech (0-3), and host Delaware (0-3), fighting through five sets in their first outing before falling without a set victory in the final two.
Sophomore outside hitter Jordyn Hamlin (Manahawkin, N.J. / Southern Regional) led the offensive attack in Delaware, totaling team-highs in points (43.0), kills (kills (35), and service aces (six) with three assists, 24 digs, and two block solos en route to being named an NEC Prime Performer for the week.Â
Senior setter Haley Gerken (Buffalo, N.Y. / Frontier) was named to the Blue Hen Invitational All-Tournament team after totaling 4.5 points, one kill, one service ace, a team-best 73 assists, 19 digs, and five block assists through Le Moyne's three matches over the weekend.
On the season, Hamlin leads the squad in points (79.5), kills (69), and kills/set (3.00). She's added eight service aces, 42 digs, and 3.0 blocks through all 23 sets of Le Moyne's six matches thus far. Junior opposite hitter Branwyn Lupton (Napanee, O.N. / Napanee District Secondary School) stands just behind in most offensive categories, tallying 56.0 points with 49 kills while leading the team with 14.0 blocks this season.
Gerken has tallied a team-high 139 assists while adding four kills, four service aces, 46 digs, and 5.0 blocks.Â
Sophomore libero/DS Brooke Menke (St. Louis, M.O. / Visitation Academy) leads Le Moyne with 65 digs and six service aces while senior middle hitter Nil Ezgi Tasdelen (Izmir, Turkey/Ugur Okullari) Â and freshman middle hitter Eiley Schneider (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey) have added 11.0 and 8.0 blocks, respectively.
A Look at the Competition:
Gardner-Webb University currently sits with a 3-4 record in 2025, Head Coach Alex Hinsey's first at the helm of the volleyball program, after finishing last season 5-23 and going 3-11 in conference play.Â
The Runnin' Bulldogs took down Sacred Heart, 3-2, to open the year on Friday, Aug. 29 before falling in four straight matches to Queens (1-3), UNC Greensboro (1-3), NC Central (0-3), and Cambell (2-3). They've bounced back in their two most recent matches, taking down UNC Greensboro 3-0 in their second meeting of the year, and Norfolk State, 3-1, both on Saturday, Sept. 6.Â
Through seven matches, sophomore outside hitters Isabel Sandstrum and Samia Sayd have led the attack for the 'Dawgs. Sandstrum has totaled 81.0 points and 66 kills (both team-highs), while adding nine service aces, eight assists, 82 digs, and 12.0 blocks. Sayd has added 66.5 points, 60 kills, four service aces, one assist, 16 digs, and 12.0 blocks, as well. Redshirt junior setter Sloane Rooney and sophomore setter/libero Olivia Lefebvre have added the top-two most assists with 133 and 130, respectively.Â
On the defensive side, graduate libero/DS Nalani McBride has led the way with 159 digs while junior middle Milla Lugo has been a force at the net, registering 32.0 blocks in 27 sets this season.
Navy will enter their home invitational with a 2-4 record to start the season, after having finished last season with a 7-18 record overall and 7-9 conference record in the Patriot League. Head Coach Paco Labrador has led Navy for the past eight seasons.Â
The Mids opened 2025 with a loss to Boise State (2-3) on Friday, Aug. 29 before rounding out the Utah Valley Invitational with wins over host Utah Valley (3-1) and Montana (3-1) that weekend. Navy then hosted the Kristen Dickmann Invitational last weekend and fell in all three of their matchups to Air Force (1-3), George Mason (2-3), and Wake Forest (0-3).Â
Senior middle blocker Ava Toppin leads Navy with 62.5 points this season, tallying 45 kills, one assist, three service aces, 10 digs, and a team-high 26.0 blocks through 25 sets. Freshman outside hitter Caroline Buffum leads the squad with 49 kills on the year while junior setter Arleigh Hanson has rounded out the offense with a team-best 169 assists through six matches.
Defensively, junior DS/libero Ally Alessio and Hanson are neck-and-neck with 60 and 59 digs on the year, respectively, while senior middle blocker Julia Humphrey sits second on the Mids roster with 23.0 blocks on the year.Â

Le Moyne will return home to take on Canisius University at Ted Grant Court at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 17.
