Anthony Maglisco (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) and junior
Owen Corby (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) finished in a tie for ninth place to lead the Le Moyne College men's golf team to a sixth-place finish at Binghamton University's The Carpetbagger Classic on Saturday and Sunday at the par-72, 7034-yard Worthington Manor Golf Club.
Mount St. Mary's University won the team title with a total of 580 after back-to-back rounds of two-over par 290. LaSalle University and Bryant University tied for second place at 584. LaSalle posted rounds of 296 and even-par 288, while Bryant had a 297 and a one-under 287. The Dolphins finished at 591 to place sixth after scores of 303 and even-par 288, which jumped them three places in the standings on Sunday. Loyola University Maryland's Jackson Roman earned medalist honors at seven-under par 137 after rounds of two-under 70 and five-under 67.
Maglisco landed in the six-way tie for ninth with an even-par 144, which featured a tournament-best 11 birdies, one eagle and 13 pars. He opened with a two-over par 74, which included an eagle on his second hole of the day, five birdies and five pars, to land in an 18-way tie for 18th place. He followed with a two-under par 70 on Sunday, which featured six birdies and eight pars, to jump nine places.
Corby finished at even-par 144 with a tournament high-tying two eagles, six birdies and 19 pars. He tallied a 77 in the first round, which included one eagle, one birdie and nine pars, to end the day in an eight-way tie for 54th. He jumped 45 spots on Sunday with a five-under par 67, which featured one eagle, five birdies and 10 pars.
Sophomore
Jacob Moody (Oakland, Maine / Messalonskee) finished in a five-way tie for 41st place with a 150, which featured two birdies and 26 pars (the second-most in the event). He was part of the eight-way tie for 54th with Corby after posting 13 pars en route to his 77. He followed with a one-over 73, which included two birdies and 13 more pars, to jump up 13 places on Sunday.
Freshman
Jacob Olearczyk (Barneveld, N.Y. / Holland Patent) landed in a five-way tie for 56th place at 153, which included two birdies, one eagle and 21 pars. He opened with a 75, featuring one eagle, two birdies and eight pars to end Saturday in a 14-way tie for 36th. He followed with 13 pars and a 78 in the second round.
Sophomore
Miles Tauzin-Fox (Los Angeles, Calif. / New West Charter School) finished in a four-way tie for 80th place with a 158 on eight birdies and 15 pars. He registered four birdies and six pars on Saturday on his way to an 80 to land in a six-way tie for 74th. He followed with four more birdies and nine pars to card a 78.
The Dolphins are back in Maryland on Friday and Saturday at Iona University's Battle at Rum Pointe at the Rum Pointe Seaside Golf Links in Berlin, Maryland.
