Albany, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College women's soccer team had a narrow 2-1 loss at UAlbany on Sunday afternoon. Senior midfielder Giovanna Vigliotti (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) scored for the Dolphins, and junior goalkeeper Mikayla McPheron made six saves (Rome, N.Y./Rome Free Academy).

In the opening half of the contest, it took nine minutes for either team to register a shot. The Great Danes had seven shots between 9:03 and 22:45, with the Dolphins blocking three and McPheron making two saves. Albany's Sydney Kofton netted the first goal of the game in the 23rd minute. Less than ten minutes later, Giovanna Vigliotti tied it up on the Dolphins' first shot of the afternoon, slotting it into the lower right corner with an assist from freshman midfielder Lucia Devito (Gansevoort, N.Y./Saratoga Springs). The game stood 1-1 at halftime.
The Great Danes continued to tally up shots in the second half, but Le Moyne found its offensive rhythm faster than in the first. Neither team was able to add to the score for more than 30 minutes. McPheron made four stops to keep the contest tied at one until Albany's Kofton broke the deadlock at 88:15, recording her second of the afternoon and putting the Great Danes up 2-1 to end the game.

McPheron made six saves in the contest. Vigliotti recorded a goal and two shots. Junior forward Alivia Day (Rochester, N.Y./Rush-Henrietta) and redshirt junior back Logan Cookinham (Poland, N.Y./Poland) both finished with two shots.
