COLCHESTER, Vt. – The Le Moyne College women placed 5th overall behind the efforts of Gina Micaroni (Blossvale, N.Y./Canastota) and Kelsey Ryan (Warsaw, N.Y./Livonia) who placed 7th and 10th respectively at the NE-10 Championships held on the St. Michael's campus. On the men's side, the Dolphins placed 13th overall.
With a time of 18:50, Gina Micaroni earned first team All-Northeast-10 honors in her freshman year. A third-team member in 2007, Kelsey Ryan placed 10th overall with a time of 19:11 to earn second-team honors in her senior season.
Senior Peter Gratien (East Syracuse, N.Y./East Syracuse-Minoa) placed 60th overall with a time of 28:04 to pace the Dolphins.
The UMass-Lowell men and women earned team titles, with the River Hawks' men finishing with 31 points (besting second-place Stonehill by 21 points) and the River Hawks' women earning 46 points to edge Stonehill by five points.
Individually, UMass Lowell senior Ruben Sanca, the runner-up each of the last two years, cruised to the win, running the 8k course in 24:33.0. Finishing second was Kevin Gill of Stonehill in 25:04.4.
Following a week off, Le Moyne will travel to Boston Franklin Park for the 2008 NCAA Regionals on Sunday, November 9th.
