Aidan Fuller (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) tied for 11th-place to lead the Le Moyne College men's golf team to an eighth-place finish at the University of Missouri's Sixth Annual Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate on Sunday and Monday at the Turning Stone Resort's par-72, 7105-yard Kaluhyat Golf Club. The 54-hole event featured 36 holes on Sunday and 18 holes on Monday.
The host Tigers won the team competition for the third straight year and for the fourth time in the six years of the event with a three-round score of 870 to top their closest competitor by 10 strokes. Missouri recorded a 300 in the first round and then registered consecutive rounds of 285. Cleveland State placed second with an 880 off rounds of 304, 286 and 290. The University of Detroit recorded rounds of 318, 288 and 299 to place third with a 905. Central Connecticut State and Villanova tied for fourth place with a score of 911. The Blue Devils posted rounds of 314, 299 and 298, while the Wildcats tallied rounds of 304, 308 and 299. The Dolphins, playing in their first of two events at Kaluhyat this Fall, registered a total of 933 after posting rounds of 323, 301 and 309. Missouri's Ryan Zech earned medalist honors after shooting a three-under par 213 following rounds of 74, 69 and 70.
Fuller, who had four top-10 finishes as a sophomore, tied for 11th place by registering a three-round score of 225. He opened Sunday's competition by posting a round of 75 to land in a tie for fourth place. He tallied another 75 in the afternoon to tie for eighth place, while closing out the event with his third straight round of 75. Senior
Mitch Hillegas (Binghamton, N.Y./Chenango Valley) tied for 32nd place with a two-day total of 234. As he did at last year's ADPRO Sports Invitational at Kaluhyat, Hillegas registered rounds of 80, 76 and 78. Classmate
Dan Molter (Port Crane, N.Y./Chenango Forks) posted a 238 to finish in a tie for 36th place after turning in rounds of 79, 81 and 78. Senior
Sam Eno (Dennis, Mass./Dennis-Yarmouth Regional) recorded a 242 off rounds of 89, 75 and 78 to place 45th, while classmate
Dan Edwards (Elmira, N.Y./Elmira Free Academy) rounded out Le Moyne's team with a 249 on rounds of 89, 75 and 85 to tie for 50th place.
The Dolphins return to the links on September 21 and 22 at Dowling College's September Shootout at Long Island National Golf Course in Riverhead, N.Y.
