MAGLISCO PLACES NINTH AT NEW YORK STATE MEN’S AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP

New Hartford, N.Y. – Rising senior Anthony Maglisco (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) of the Le Moyne College men's golf team finished in ninth place at last week's New York State Men's Amateur Championship at the Yahnundasis Golf Club.

Maglisco, who earned an exemption into the championship by winning the 60-team New York State Men's Amateur Fall-Ball Championship with rising junior Owen Corby at Turning Stone Resort's Shenandoah Golf Course in late May, finished the 72-hole championship in ninth place in the 150-player field with a four-over par 288.

He tallied an opening round one-over par 72, which included two birdies, an eagle and 10 pars, to land in a seven-way tie for eighth place. He was in a two-way tie for eighth place after registering an even-par 71 on Wednesday in the second round, which featured four birdies and 10 pars. In the third round on Thursday morning, the recorded another 72, including five birdies and eight pars, to move into a five-way tie for seventh place. He closed out the championship on Thursday afternoon with a 73, featuring three birdies and 11 pars, to dip to ninth place.

Four current or former Dolphins earned their way into the championship, but did not make the cut, which was at eight over par. Nicholas Bove '23 M '24 finished at nine over (74-77), Corby finished at plus-12 (81-73), Justin Fiato '24 finished at plus-21 (78-85) and rising sophomore Tyler Stark finished at plus-25 (81-86).
