Colchester, Vt. - The Le Moyne College women's tennis team had five dual-winners en route to an 8-1 victory over Saint Michael's College on Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at the SMC Tennis Courts.
The Dolphins jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the match by sweeping the doubles contests. At the first spot, freshman
Tiffany Dun (Templestowe, Victoria/Doncaster Secondary College) and sophomore
Rithika Vajjiravelu (Chennai, Tamil Nadu/Kendriya Vidyalaya) registered an 8-2 win over Erica Bundrick and Alexandra Sulkin. Sophomore
Amica Benoit-Limosani (Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Quebec/Collège Saint-Maurice) and junior
Christina Perry (Endwell, N.Y./Seton Catholic) were 8-5 winners at the second spot over Nicole Kellogg and Amelia Weeks, while senior
Allison Jones (Utica, N.Y./Notre Dame) and sophomore
Autumn Hogan (Rochester, N.Y./Aquinas institute) tallied an 8-3 victory over Colleen O'Keefe and Marissa Landry at third doubles.
Le Moyne was victorious at each of the top four singles spots. Dun earned her first singles victory by topping Bundrick, 6-4, 6-3, at the top spot. Vajjiravelu was a 6-2, 6-0 winner at the second spot over Kellogg, while Benoit-Limosani turned in a 6-3, 6-0 victory at the third position over Sulkin. Perry tallied her second win of the season with a 6-4, 6-4 win over O'Keefe at fourth singles, while Hogan topped Riley Kruger, 6-2, 6-3, at the sixth spot. Weeks recorded Saint Michael's only point with a 6-3, 6-4 win at fifth singles over Jones.
Le Moyne (2-0, 2-0 NE-10) is back on the courts on Sunday at Franklin Pierce University at 11:00 a.m.
