Kansas City, Mo. - Le Moyne College junior goalkeeper
Ben Beaury (Cohoes, N.Y./LaSalle Institute), freshman forward
Salar Faryar (Frankfurt, Germany/Max-Eyth Schule) and senior back
Jack Ball (Sunbury, England/Bishop Wand/Bryant & Stratton) have received National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) men's soccer All-East Region honors, as voted upon and released by the association on Wednesday.
Beaury and Faryar earned spots on the All-Region First Team and Ball was selected to the Second Team.
Beaury, who earns his first career all-region accolades, is the first Le Moyne goalkeeper to earn NSCAA First Team All-Region honors in the program's history. He is also just the third Dolphin netminder to be recognized by the NSCAA as Tim Mann earned second team honors in 2005 and Steve White was tabbed to the second team in 2009. The first Le Moyne netminder in the program's 21 seasons in the Northeast-10 Conference to be named NE10 Goalkeeper of the Year, Beaury registered a 0.83 goals against average, a .733 save percentage, 13 victories and seven shutouts over 1737:14 between the pipes. He ranks second in the Northeast-10 in shutouts, third in wins, fourth in goals against average and eighth in save percentage. In conference action, he recorded a 0.69 goals against average, a .714 save percentage, 20 saves, eight wins and five shutouts. He tied for the league lead in shutouts, while his goals against average and win total were third. On the program's single-season charts, he has the fourth-best goals against average, he is tied for the fourth-most wins and he is tied for the seventh-most shutouts. He registered at least three saves in eight contests and made a season-best five in a 2-1 win at Merrimack in the NE10 Semifinals on November 4.
Ball, who was named to the Northeast-10 All-Conference First Team last month, earns his second straight NSCAA recognition after being named to the third team last year. A starter at center back in all 21 games, he anchored a defense that posted nine shutouts, the second-best total in the conference, and allowed just 0.96 goals per game, the third-best mark in the league. Additionally, he recorded seven points on two goals and three assists when pushed up on scoring chances.
Faryar is the first Dolphin freshman to earn a spot on the NSCAA East Region First Team since Angelo Reina '11 in 2007 and is just the second Dolphin freshman to be recognized by the NSCAA over the last 16 seasons. Over 21 games as a starter at forward, Faryar registered 30 points on 14 goals and two assists. Six of his 14 goals were game-winners. He led the conference in goals, game-winning goals and shot-on-goal percentage (.660) and was second in points. His 14 goals are tied for the sixth-most in a single season in the program's history and are the most since Reina tallied a program-best 20 in 2009, while they are the most by a Le Moyne freshman in the program's history. Additionally, his goal total is the highest by a freshman in the conference over the last 11 seasons. Faryar's 30 points are tied for the eighth-most in a season in the program's history and are the most by a Dolphin freshman. He found the back of the net in 11 of 21 games and had at least one point in 12 games. He recorded three games with two goals. In conference action, he recorded 15 points on seven goals and one assist, while tallying three game-winners. His goal total was tied for the fifth-most in the league, while he had the most by a freshman. He tied for the best shot-on-goal percentage at .692, tied for second with his three game-winners and tied for eighth in points.
Le Moyne, which appeared in the NCAA Championships for the eighth time in the program's history, but fell in the opening round to Southern New Hampshire, finished the season with a record of 14-5-2. The Dolphins, who were seeded third, made their 19th Northeast-10 Conference Championships appearance in their 21 years in the league and advanced to the title game for the fifth time. The tournament appearance was Le Moyne's 16th consecutive berth, the second-longest active streak in the league behind Southern New Hampshire.
