Courtney Webster (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) scored a career-high 19 points to lead the Le Moyne College women's basketball team to a 79-51 win over Mansfield University in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon at Ted Grant Court.
Webster, whose previous career high of 18 came on January 30, 2016 against Franklin Pierce, tallied 11 of her points in the second half, while adding a game-high seven rebounds. Senior forward
Nicole Riddick (Albany, N.Y./Colonie/UMass Lowell) registered 13 first-half points, while posting three steals. Junior guard
Madison Purcell (Clifton Park, N.Y./Catholic Central) and sophomore guard
McKayla Roberts (North Syracuse, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) each recorded 12 points, while Purcell had four assists and four rebounds and Roberts tallied three steals.
Brielle Kelly led the Mountaineers in the loss with 20 points, including 11 in the second half, while adding six rebounds. Erin Gibbons registered 11 of her 14 points in the opening half, while Alyssa Mullins had all nine of her points in the second half.
The Dolphins opened the game with the first 10 points over the initial 3:01. Roberts and Riddick buried three-pointers on the first two possessions, Webster followed with a jumper and Riddick capped the stretch with two free throws.
Mansfield scored 10 of the last 15 points of the quarter to get within 15-10 after one period. Gibbons had the first three points and Kelly added three points in the span.
Le Moyne scored the first eight points and 18 of the first 21 of the second quarter to take its first 20-point lead of the contest (33-13). Riddick scored eight of the points, while Purcell made a pair of lay-ups.
After Kelly snapped Le Moyne's 10-0 run, the Dolphins tallied eight of the next 10 points for their largest lead of the half (41-17) with 1:57 to go before halftime. Roberts and Purcell each had four of the eight points in the stretch.
Mansfield closed out the half with seven of the last nine points to get within 43-24 at halftime. Kelly had the first four points before Gibbons had a conventional three-point play with one second left.
After the teams went back-and-forth over the opening two minutes of the third quarter, the Dolphins pushed their lead back to 23 (54-31) with 6:18 remaining with six straight points. Senior forward

Mansfield tallied 13 of the last 17 points of the quarter to pull within 14 (58-44) after 30 minutes. Kelly tallied seven of the 13 points, while Mullins converted two lay-ups. Webster had all four of Le Moyne's points in the stretch.
Le Moyne pushed its lead back to 24 (72-48) with 14 of the first 18 points of the fourth quarter over 4:56. Roberts netted five of the points on a jumper and a three-pointer, while Purcell added four points.
The Dolphins scored seven of the last nine points over the last 4:02 to close out the game's scoring.
Le Moyne (6-5), which won its 20th straight game over the Mountaineers to improve to 26-1 all-time, concludes its non-conference schedule on Saturday, December 30 at Holy Family University at 1:00 p.m.
