WOMEN’S GOLF PLACES 13TH AT MICHAEL CORBETT FALL CLASSIC

Erie, Pa. – Sophomore Bianca Cruz-Hernandez (Lake Mary, Fla./Lake Mary) tied for 37th place to lead the Le Moyne College women's golf team to a 13th-place finish at the Michael Corbett Fall Classic hosted by Gannon University on Sunday and Monday at the par-72, 5802-yard Lake Shore Country Club.

The Dolphins registered a 342 on Sunday to finish in 12th place in the 23-team field. The Dolphins turned in a season-best 335 in the second round, but dropped one spot with a total of 677, an improvement of 37 shots from Friday and Saturday at Mercyhurst. Ashland University captured first place in the team standings with a 623 following rounds of 319 and 304. Kutztown University finished with a 629 off scores of 311 and 318 to place second, while Franklin Pierce University tallied scores of 319 and 314 to place third with a 633.
 
Cruz-Hernandez finished the two rounds with a 166 to land in a four-way tie for 37th place after turning in rounds of 86 and an 80, the best score by a Dolphin so far this season. Sophomore Lauren Kase (North Tonawanda, N.Y./Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart) placed in a four-way tie for 46th in the 120-member field with a 169 after tallying rounds of 85 and 84. Freshman Micayla Moldenke (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer) and junior Katherine Walsh (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) finished in a five-way tie for 54th place with a 171. They each posted rounds of 87 and 84 with Moldenke's career-best round of 84 coming on Monday, while Walsh's 84 was posted on Sunday. Senior Ashley Mayse (Cecilton, Md./Bohemia Manor) tied for 83rd with a 179 following rounds of 90 and an 89.
 
The Dolphins return to action on Sunday and Monday by hosting the Le Moyne Fall Invitational at The Pompey Club in Jamesville. Sunday's first competitor tees off at 11:00 a.m.
