WOMEN’S GOLF OPENS SPRING SEASON AT BABS STEFFENS INVITATIONAL

DeBary, Fla. – The Le Moyne College women's golf team opened its Spring season at the Babs Steffens Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at the par-71, 5928-yard Debary Country Club.

The host Hatters won the team championship with a total off 867 following rounds of 296, 287 and 284. Appalachian State finished 10 shots back at 877 off scores of 297, 290 and 290. Keiser was third with a 905 after rounds of 303, 297 and 305. The Dolphins recorded a 1042 off rounds of 349, 345 and 348 to place 16th. App State's Zoe Duval earned medalist honors with a seven-under par 206 following rounds of 69, 69 and 68.

Freshman Caroline McShea (Old Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) tied for 69th place with a 251, including 21 pars, to lead the Dolphins. She opened with an 81 in the morning to land in a three-way tie for 51st and posted an 86 in the afternoon to end the day in a four-way tie for 66th. She closed out the invitational with an 84 on Tuesday.

Senior Riley Stuver (Webster, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) registered a 260, including a pair of birdies and 20 pars, to place 83rd. She recorded an 87 in the first round to finish in a six-way tie for 75th and an 85 in round two to land in a three-way tie for 77th. She then posted an 88 in the final round.

Junior Gianna Cafarella (Scranton, Pa./Scranton Preparatory School) tied for 84th place with a 261, which included two birdies and 21 pars. She turned in an 87 in the opening round and followed with an 89 in the afternoon to tie for 82nd. She carded an 85 in the last round.

Freshman Elizabeth Holden (Clinton, Maine/Lawrence) placed 89th with a 274, which included 15 pars. She opened with a 94 to place 87th and moved up one spot with an 85 in the second round. She capped the event with a 95.

Sophomore Lauren Williams (San Francisco, Calif./University HS) finished 90th with a 278, which included 19 pars. She posted a 97 in the first round and had a 90 on Monday afternoon. She closed out the invitational with a 91.

The Dolphins are back in Florida on March 8 and 9 at Orange Tree Golf Club in Orlando as they host the Le Moyne Spring Invitational.
