WOMEN’S GOLF PLACES 15TH AT KINGSMILL INTERCOLLEGIATE

Williamsburg, Va. – Sophomore Lauren Williams (San Francisco, Calif./University HS) placed 50th to lead the Le Moyne College women's golf team to a 15th-place finish at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate hosted by William & Mary on Monday and Tuesday at the par-72, 5947-yard Kingsmill Resort River Course.

Dartmouth won the team competition with a total of 885 off rounds of four-under 284, 294 and 307. Navy placed second with a 908 following scores of 296, 304 and 308. Sacred Heart finished third at 931 after rounds of 313, 310 and 308. The Dolphins recorded rounds of 335, 350 and 353 to finish at 1038. Dartmouth's Sophie Thai earned medalist honors with a two-under total of 214 following rounds of four-under 68, two-under 70 and 76.

Williams tied for 50th place with a 54-hole total of 247, which included 29 pars. She opened with an 81, featuring 12 pars. She followed with an 83, including nine in the afternoon. She turned in another 83 on Tuesday, featuring eight pars.

Junior Gianna Cafarella (Scranton, Pa./Scranton Preparatory School) finished in a four-way tie for 70th place with a 259, which featured two birdies and 18 pars. She carded an 82 in the morning on Monday, which included two birdies and seven pars. She recorded an 83, featuring nine pars, in the second round. She closed out the event with a 94.

Freshman Caroline McShea (Old Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) placed 76th with a 261, which included two birdies and 15 pars. She registered an 86 in the first round, which featured one birdie and four pars. She then posted an 88, including six pars, in the afternoon. She moved up one place on Tuesday with an 87, which featured one birdie and five pars.

Senior Riley Stuver (Webster, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) finished with a 278, which featured 15 pars to place 84th. She opened with an 86, which included eight pars. She then tallied a 96, which featured three pars. She posted another 96 in the third round, including four pars.

Freshman Elizabeth Holden (Clinton, Maine/Lawrence) placed 87th with a 303, including nine pars. She recorded back-to-back 107s on Monday. She moved up two spots with an 89, including seven pars, in the final round.

The Dolphins are back in action at the YSU Spring Invitational hosted by Youngstown State University on April 5 and 6 at Avalon Lakes Golf Course in Warren, Ohio.
