Ellicott City, Md. – Freshman
Caroline McShea (Old Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) tied for 31st place to lead the Le Moyne College women's golf team at the NEC Championship at the par-71 Turf Valley Resort Hialeah Course.
Howard University won its first NEC Championship by two shots with a three-day total of 917 off rounds of 306, 310 and 301. FDU finished in second place with a 919 following scores of 308, 299 and 312. North Carolina Central ended in third place with a 957 after rounds of 321, 314 and 322. The Dolphins recorded rounds of 345, 339 and 343 to place 12th. Howard's Marley Franklin was the individual champion with a 220 off rounds of even-par 71, 72 and 77.
McShea finished in a three-way tie for 31st with a 247, which included two birdies and 22 pars. She opened with an 83, which featured eight pars, to land in a five-way tie for 33rd place. She then tallied an 81, including one birdie and nine pars, on Saturday to move up to a four-way tie for 28th. She closed out the championship with another 83, featuring one birdie and five pars.
Sophomore
Lauren Williams (San Francisco, Calif./University HS) tied for 43rd with a 258, which featured 20 pars. She recorded an 88 in the opening round, including six pars, to tie for 55th place. She followed with an 82, featuring eight pars, on the second day to jump nine spots in the standings. She posted a second 88 on Sunday, including six pars, to climb another three places.
Junior
Gianna Cafarella (Scranton, Pa./Scranton Preparatory School) tied for 45th place with a three-day total of 259, which included three birdies and 16 pars. She registered an 87 on Friday, which featured two birdies and three pars, to land in a seven-way tie for 48th place. She then carded a 90, including six pars, to finish the second round in a three-way tie for 53rd. She capped the year with an 82, featuring one birdie and seven pars.
Sophomore
Olivia Dahn (Bristol, Conn./St. Paul Catholic) played the first two rounds, featuring two birdies and 13 pars, before sitting out the third. She had an 87 in the first round, including eight pars, to join Cafarella in the seven-way tie for 48th. She posed an 86, featuring two birdies and five pars, on Saturday to end the round in 50th place.
Freshman
Elizabeth Holden (Clinton, Maine/Lawrence) played the final two rounds after sitting out the first. She turned in a 91 in the second round, which included five pars. She followed with a 90, featuring four pars, on Sunday.
Senior
Riley Stuver (Webster, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) played the first and third rounds. She opened with a 90, including seven pars, to place 58th. She closed out her career with a 95 in the final round.
