Brockport, N.Y. - The Le Moyne men's and women's indoor track and field teams combined for 16 top 10 finishes Saturday at the Brockport Golden Eagle Invitational. The women finished sixth and the men finished eighth at the event.
Freshman
Jacob Schmid (Ontario, N.Y./Wayne) placed sixth in the 200-meter dash crossing the finish line at 23.50 which was a new program record.
Senior
Mahamadou Jagana (Bronx, N.Y./DeWitt Clinton) recorded a time of 52.64 in the 400-meter dash which earned him a ninth place finish in the event.
Junior
Chris Davitt (Delmar, N.Y./Bethlehem) was the third place finisher in the one-mile run when he came in eight tenths of seconds faster than the fourth place finisher at 4:29.06
The men's distance medley relay team of Jagana, Schmid, Davitt and freshman
Kyle VanCoughnett (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Arlington) finished the event over five seconds faster than the second place team with at 11:06.77.
Freshman
William Bilow (Chasm Falls, N.Y./Franklin) registered a sixth place victory in men's high jump event with a 1.73 meter jump.
On the women's side, the Dolphins had their sole first-place finisher in the 5000-meter run as sophomore
Eva Keohane (Brewerton, N.Y./Central Square) completed the event in 18:37.62.
Senior
Bethia Nivens (Latham, N.Y./Shaker) started the day with a 1:01.29 finish in the 400-meter dash which earned her a second place finish in the event.
The Dolphins had two top 10 finishers in the 800-meter run as senior
Brittney Mack (Poestenkill, N.Y./Averill Park) recorded a program-record in the event when she crossed the line third at 2:21.29. Sophomore
Haleigh Pascual (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) registered a sixth-place finish with a time of 2:27.58.
Sophomore
Caroline St. Antoine (Longueuil, Québec/Cégep Édouard-Montpetit) and junior
Jillian Stagnitta (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) both placed in the top 10 in the one-mile event with times of 5:33.05 and 5:45.80.
Freshman
Awnshae Smith (Scranton, Pa. /Scranton) and senior
Val Pirro (Camillus, N.Y. / West Genesee) placed sixth and tenth in the 60-meter hurdles with times of 10.74 and 11.08.
A distance medley team of Stagnita, Nivens, Mack and junior
Jordan Sloan (Central Square, N.Y./Bishop Grimes) took first with a combined time of 13:20.51.
Sophomore
Mollie Engle (Roscoe, N.Y. / Roscoe) cleared the bar at 1.38 meters to place seventh in the high jump.
Freshman
Awnshae Smith (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) recorded a distance of 9.94 meters to place tenth in the triple jump.
The Dolphins are back in action Saturday, February 2 at 10:30 a.m. at Utica College.
