Easton, Pa. – The Le Moyne College men's and women's outdoor track & field teams competed at the Leopard Invitational, hosted by Lafayette College on Saturday. The Dolphins found individual success after earning three 1
st place finishes throughout the day.
"Today was a character-building day for sure," said head coach
Tanner Beebe. "The temperature never climbed above 40 degrees, and the strong winds pressed everybody throughout the day. But our crew dug deep, persevered, and got better today."
Redshirt junior
Christopher Zajdel (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) placed 1
st overall in the men's 400m after running a time of 49.30. Freshman
Andrew Gulde (Clarence Center, N.Y./Clarence) placed 1
st overall in the men's 400m hurdles, running a time of 56.81. Sophomore
Carter DeRosa (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn) also earned a 1
st place finish in the men's triple jump, winning the event with a mark of 12.38m/40'-7.5".
To continue on the men's side, freshman
Andrew Shupe (Easton, Pa./Notre Dame Green Pond) placed 4
th overall in the 100m, setting a personal best after running a time of 11.22. In the 200m event, senior
Jordan Johnson (Plainfield, N.J./Timothy Christian School) placed 10
th overall after clocking in with a time of 23.26. Shupe also competed in the 200m event, running a time of 23.53 and placing 14
th overall.
Sophomore
Michael Daley (Schenectady, N.Y./Schenectady) placed 3
rd overall in the 800m after running a time of 2:08.68. Freshman
Dillan Holzwarth (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) placed 8
th overall, clocking in with a time of 2:13.28. Junior
Jacob Makhlouf (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) finished 0.26 seconds behind Holzwarth, placing 9
th overall after running a time of 2:13.54.
In the 1500m, freshman
Emmet Bachmann (Churchville, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) placed 7
th overall after running a time of 4:29.38. Redshirt junior
Jake Roman (Liverpool, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse/SUNY Morrisville) placed 10
th overall, clocking in with a time of 4:39.34.
Freshman
Mace Barnes (Los Angeles, Calif./Loyola) set a personal best in the 110m hurdles, placing 6
th overall after running a time of 20.18. Sophomore
Maltrin Ramadani (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) placed 3
rd overall in the 400m hurdles, running a time of 1:02.34.
Senior
Adam Cuyler (Phoenix, N.Y./C.W.Baker) placed 3
rd overall in the shot put event, setting a program record after earning a mark of 13.91m/45'-7.75". Junior
Joseph Doran (Camden, N.Y./Camden) placed 4
th overall in the hammer throw, also setting a program record after earning a distance of 45.13m/148'-1" to round out the top-15 finishers on the day for the men's program.
On the women's side, freshman
Emma Bohall (Schenectady, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) recorded the highest individual finish of the day for the 'Phins after placing 2
nd overall in the 1500m and running a time of 5:00.27.
In the 100m, freshman
Alexis Vincent (Wynantskill, N.Y./Averill Park) placed 4
th overall after clocking in with a time of 12.77. Redshirt junior
Alayna Bush (Adams, N.Y./South Jefferson) placed 10
th overall after running a time of 13.63. Freshman
Lyla Dufek (San Marcos, Calif./San Marcos) placed 13
th overall after earning a time of 13.85.
Alexis also competed in the 200m event, placing 3
rd overall after running a time of 27.04. Sophomore
Jasmin Gonzalez-Rivera (Utica, N.Y./Thomas R. Proctor/Monmouth) placed one spot behind Vincent after running a time of 27.50.
Alayna Bush also competed in the 200m, running a time of 28.86 and placing 11
th overall.

rd overall in the 400m event, clocking in with a time of 1:02.54. Sophomore
Lilly Gilles (Freeport, N.Y./Freeport) placed 6
th overall, setting a personal best after running a time of 1:05.94. Sophomore
Caitlin Lamphier (Woodhull, N.Y./Jasper-Troupsburg) placed 8
th overall in the 800m event, clocking in with a time of 3:00.85.
In the 100m hurdles, Dufek placed 3
rd overall after running a time of 16.25. Sophomore
Sara Edmonson (Leonardsville, N.Y./Mount Markham) placed 7
th overall after running a time of 18.78.
In the hammer throw event, redshirt junior
Lauren Shaler (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) placed 6
th overall after earning a mark of 31.98m/104'-11". Fifth year
Chelsea Dennison placed 8
th overall after earning a distance of 26.93m/88'-4". Freshman
Laura Ryan (Canastota, N.Y./Canastota) set a personal best after placing 9
th overall, throwing a distance of 21.50m-70'-6" to round out the top-15 finishers on the women's side.
"Excited about the progress we made today, as well as Joe and Adam's new program records in the hammer throw and shot put." said coach Beebe.
The Dolphins are slated to compete in the Cortland Red Dragon Open, hosted by SUNY Cortland on Friday, April 3
