PURVIS EARNS 2ND PLACE AS MEN'S AND WOMEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD CONCLUDES CORNELL BIG RED INVITATIONAL

Ithaca, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men's and women's outdoor track & field teams competed at the Big Red Invitational hosted by Cornell University on Sunday. Junior Mike Purvis (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) recorded the best individual of the day for the 'Phins, placing 2nd overall in the men's 2000m steeplechase after running a time of 6:09.01.
 
To continue on the men's side, freshman Andrew Shupe (Easton, Pa./Notre Dame Green Pond) placed 14th overall in the 100m after running a time of 11.04. Freshman Owen Mulholland (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) finished two spots behind Shupe after running a time of 11.18, earning himself a 16th place finish.
 
Freshman Andrew Gulde (Clarence Center, N.Y./Clarence) placed 14th overall in the 200m, clocking in with a time of 22.61. Senior Jordan Johnson (Plainfield, N.J./Timothy Christian School) placed 19th overall after running a time of 23.06. Gulde and Johnson also competed in the 400m, as Andrew placed 8th overall with a time of 50.10, as Jordan placed 13th overall with a time of 51.44. Sophomore Matrin Ramadani (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) placed 16th overall after clocking in with a time of 53.19. Senior Joseph Pecoraro (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Joseph's by the Sea) placed 18th overall with a time of 56.79.
 
In the 400m event, Purvis earned the best finish for the 'Phins after placing 16th overall with a time of 2:04.80. Freshman Dillan Holzwarth (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) placed 19th overall with a time of 2:06.07. Freshman Mace Barnes (Los Angeles, Calif./Loyola) placed 11th overall in the 110m hurdles after earning a time of 18.39.
 
Junior Trevon Walker (Clay, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) placed 11th overall in the long jump event after earning a mark of 6.10m/20'-0.25". Sophomore Carter DeRosa (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn) placed 17th overall after marking a distance of 2.80m/19'-0.5". Sophomore Demetrius Wells (Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson) placed 4th overall in the triple jump, earning a distance of 14.06m/46'-1.5".
 
Senior Adam Cuyler (Phoenix, N.Y./C.W. Baker) placed 4th overall in the shot put after earning a mark of 13.41m/44'-0". Junior Joseph Doran (Camden, N.Y./Camden) placed 6th overall in the hammer throw after earning a mark of 43.16m/141'-7". Barnes also competed in the javelin throw, earning a distance of 30.33m/99'-6" to earn himself a 12th place finish to conclude the top-20 finishers of the day on the men's side.
 
On the women's side, freshman Alexis Vincent (Wynantskill, N.Y./Averill Park) placed 11th overall in the 100m after running a time of 12.40. In the 400m, freshman Emma Bohall (Schenectady, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) placed 14th overall after running a time of 1:03.06. Junior Amanda Lowenguth (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) placed 16th overall after running a time of 1:03.57. Sophomore Lilly Gilles (Freeport, N.Y./Freeport) placed 18th overall, earning a time of 1:06.71.
 
Sophomore Caitlin Lamphier (Woodhull, N.Y./Jasper-Troupsburg) placed 15th overall in the 800m after running a time of 2:52.59. Freshman Hailey Parker (Old Forge, N.Y./Town of Webb) placed one spot behind Lamphier, clocking in with a time of 3:02.50 and placing 16th overall.
 
In the 1500m, sophomore Isabella O'Donnell (Latham, N.Y./Shaker) placed 7th overall after clocking in with a time of 4:48.25. Bohall also competed in the 1500m event, placing 10th overall after running a time of 4:54.70. Junior Mackenzie Ples (Lowville, N.Y./Lowville) placed 13th overall after running a time of 4:57.94. Sophomore Jacey Locci (Stillwater, N.Y./Stillwater) tied for 3rd place in the high jump event after earning a mark of 1.67m/5'-5.75". Redshirt junior Alayna Bush (Adams, N.Y./South Jefferson) competed in the javelin throw, placing 9th overall after earning a distance of 26.16m/85'-10".
 
The quartet of Lowenguth, junior Rosalie Vincent (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Grimes), Locci and Alexis Vincent competed in the 4x100m relay, placing 5th overall after running a time of 49.47 to conclude the top-20 finishers on the women's side.
 
The Dolphins are back in action in Buffalo, N.Y. this Friday to compete in the UB Alumni Invite.
