WOMEN’S SOCCER DOWNED BY 11TH-RANKED SAINT ROSE, 4-1

Albany, N.Y. – Nina Predanic recorded a goal and an assist to lead 11th-ranked The College of Saint Rose to a 4-1 win over the Le Moyne College women's soccer team in Northeast-10 Conference play on Tuesday night at the Plumeri Sports Complex.

Predanic, one of three active players in Division II with at least 40 career goals (42) and at least 25 career assists (29), opened the game's scoring just 16 seconds into the game. After taking a pass from Olivia Boucher, Predanic fired a shot from 20 yards out that bounced twice before slipping inside the far right post for her NE10-best 13th goal of the season.

Following three unsuccessful shots on goal by each team over the next 28 minutes, the Golden Knights doubled their lead in the 29th minute. After Boucher had her shot off a corner kick blocked, Eva Frazzoni knocked the loose ball into the net from six yards out at the 28:46 mark for her first goal of the season.

The Dolphins cut their deficit in half seven and one-half minutes into the second half. After carrying the ball down the right sideline and then cutting to the right edge of the penalty box, junior back Erica Wasserbach (Niskayuna, N.Y./Niskayuna) lofted a shot into the far top corner of the net at the 52:32 mark for her first tally of the campaign.

After Saint Rose had five shots saved in a span of 12 minutes, the Golden Knights regained their two-goal advantage. Off a deflection, Deanna Trongone lined a 15-yard shot inside the right post at the 68:23 mark for her fifth marker of the year.

The Golden Knights finished off the game's scoring in the 77th minute. Predanic sent a pass from the left endline into the middle of the penalty box to Caitlyn Dabagian, who one-timed a shot into the back of the net at the 76:59 mark for her third goal of the season.

Senior goalkeeper Shannon Bennison (Albany, N.Y./Guilderland) posted four saves (against two goals) in the first half in taking the loss. Marika Laurendeau earned her NE10-best 11th victory of the season after recording four saves. Saint Rose registered a 23-10 advantage in shots, including 13-4 in the first half, while posting a 7-4 edge in corner kicks.
