INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD TEAMS REGISTER 10 PROGRAM RECORDS AT NORTHEAST-10 CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Northampton, Mass. – The Le Moyne College men's and women's track teams registered 10 program records at the Northeast-10 Conference Championships on Saturday and Sunday afternoon at Smith College's Indoor Track and Tennis Facility.
 
The men placed ninth with 13 points. The women placed 11th with a program-record 26 points.
 
Southern Connecticut State University captured its third consecutive men's championship with 215 points. Stonehill College won the women's championship for the sixth straight year with 166 points.

During the post-Championship awards ceremony, sophomore Eva Keohane (Brewerton, N.Y./Central Square) was named the recipient of the inaugural Elite 24 Award, which is awarded to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade point average competing at the final site for each of the NE10's 24 Championships.

On the track, Keohane earned the most points by a Dolphin at the NE10 Championships with 11 as well as the highest individual finish. She raced to a second-place finish, the best-ever by a Dolphin at the Championship, and collected eight points in the 5000-meter run in a program-record time of 18:01.71, eclipsing her previous mark by 35.03 seconds. She also earned three points in the 3000-meter run with a time of 10:40.00 to place sixth.

The quartet of junior Jordan Sloan (Central Square, N.Y./Bishop Grimes), senior Bethia Nivens (Latham, N.Y./Shaker), sophomore Haleigh Pascual (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) and senior Brittney Mack (Poestenkill, N.Y./Averill Park) registered the program's best-ever Championship finish by a relay team by placing second in the 4x800-meter relay with a program-record time of 9:41.75 to claim eight points.

Pascual, Nivens, Sloan and Mack started their scoring at the Championship by placing fourth in the Distance Medley Relay in 12:45.80 to earn five points.

Mack earned two points by placing seventh in the one-mile run with a time of 5:17.23.
 
Freshman Awnshae Smith (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) broke the program's record in the triple jump with a distance of 33-feet, 3.75 inches.
 
The men's Distance Medley Relay team of senior Griffin Klein (Fair Haven, N.Y./Red Creek), freshman Jacob Schmid (Ontario, N.Y./Wayne), senior Mahamadou Jagana (Bronx, N.Y./DeWitt Clinton) and junior Chris Davitt (Delmar, N.Y./Bethlehem) earned Le Moyne's first points of the Championship with a sixth-place finish in 10:24.61.
 
On Sunday, Davitt started the team's scoring by earning four points in the one-mile run with a fifth-place finish in 4:21.59.

Klein recorded an eighth-place finish in the 800-meter run in 1:59.35 to earn one point.
 
Jagana, Davitt and Klein teamed with freshman Paul Stannard (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) to place fifth, the program's best-ever finish in a relay at the Championship, in the 4x800-meter relay in a program-record time of 8:07.46.
 
Schmid, sophomore Jordan Devereaux (Syracuse, N.Y./Solvay), senior Nicholas Kattato (Cold Brook, N.Y./Poland) and freshman Kenny Barrett (Lagrangeville, N.Y./Lady of Lourdes) closed out the Championship with an eighth-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay in a program-record time of 3:28.17.

The Dolphins open the outdoor season at the Hamilton College Invitational on Saturday, April 7.
